Every position of importance or influence is occupied and gatekept by boomers who refuse to make way for younger generations. This problem only gets worse with time to the point Gen Z is now struggling to get careers in their mid to late 20s because they’re competing with fagllenials. The average age of Congress is 59 (64 for the Senate). Institutions are closed to younger people save for a few nepo babies or an anomaly. This forces young adults into a state of prolonged childhood. And people are wondering why Gen Z isn’t having sex or making kids.
