Boomers didn’t “have it easy.”
They just played a different game.

Less eating out.
Less “treat yourself.”
More overtime.
More boring.
More consistency.

Meanwhile today we act shocked that $14 coffees and $1,200 car notes don’t build a down payment.

Yes, housing is harder now.
Prices, rates, and supply are real problems.

But here’s the part nobody wants to say out loud:
Lifestyle inflation is also real.

So what’s the bigger issue right now?

The market got worse

or

We got softer about sacrifice?

if you didn't dine out even once throughout the whole year, never traveled and put all that money aside (leaving out overtime because no one pays you for overtime lel), they'd be less able to afford a house at the end of the year than at the beginning.

Boomers only care about real estate values going up each year, they love bragging about the value of their house and pretend they earned every red cent. They take responsibility for inflation as if it were their own home-baked bread. And for this reason, I will celebrate when they are all dead.

They also get in the way of antisemitism, old people are OBSESSED with gatekeeping for kikes. Without boomers ratting us out we could have actual pogroms.
>>
This isn’t even true. Boomers went to the local diner and burger joint and hole in the wall every week. Cross-country road trips were a rite of passage and we’re doing trips to Europe and Hawaii before 40. And they were all home before 6 unless they didn’t want to be which is the same now.
>>
>>534101602
Lifestyle inflation is cope.
Do you honestly believe boomers didn't buy anything when they were younger?
>>
“Worked overtime all the time.” Meanwhile millennials got shitty “salaries” for jobs that once got wages ie no overtime for you, faggot.

And dined out three times a year? Get the fuck out of here. I love my dad, but he played tennis every Wednesday and he and the boys went out for drinks after. Every week.

>>
And something no one ever talks about - non-competes. Even shitty sub sandwich jobs come with non-competes. Did every boomer get slapped with a non-compete, locking in their salaries? Certainly not, but they slapped every other generation with this bullshit.

Would argue non-competes are easily the biggest driver of income stagnation. You’ve been robbed of millions over the course of your career.

Boomers did get to enjoy prosperity that we will never see but I am getting sick and tired of the faggot ass millenials and zoomers crying about being lazy losers day and night for years on end. Some of you reading this will cope and seethe about someday everyone will get what they deserve or some shit but you'll do nothing and you'll keep bitching and crying.

Look at this screenshot. 25k likes. What the fuck is this person asking of this random boomer? You whine to them that you cant find a job you want a stranger to give you some money or a house or something? I get it if your parents are stingy but god damn get over yourself.
>>
>>534101602
Even when my boomer parents were putting my father through USC after getting out of Nam and they lived below the poverty line in Southern California they ate out once a week. They continued this tradition after college. After college they went on a vacation once a year and my father never worked overtime. They owned a house only a couple years after graduation.
>>
>>534101749
>(leaving out overtime because no one pays you for overtime lel)

yeah, when boomers worked overtime, they frequently got "double-time", they'd make double their wage. Today, "time and a half" is common, and workers only get double time in very rare instances

>>
why are there so many millennials or zoomers or whatever this fag is who constantly defend boomers like this.

It's double weird because 'we' collectively remember our boomer parents 20-30 years ago and they never did that shit except maybe in small stints during recessions. There was never a prolonged 10 year period where things just go worse for them.

And that was middle class people. That lifestyle now if solidly upper-class. I am more qualified and than my parents (they only graduated high school) and do higher level work, but I cannot afford the same lifestyle they enjoyed (house at 25, 3 kids by 32, and lots of travelling).

Look, i dont fucking care. Theft is wrong.

High housing prices are theft since they're imposed by zoning laws and license and permit requirements. If you make your own home and your own land without all the permits, armed police tear it down.

Money printing is theft since its basically counterfeit of the money the rest of us have to earn, and it raises prices relative to wages.

Taxes are theft, or at least unreasonably high ones.

I don't fucking care if the robbers work very hard and have very good work ethic or if they have it good or bad. Only absolute retards think that's what the argument is about.

Boomers had a whole fucking industry about traveling to India, let alone the rest of the world.
Boomers are the ones who started eating out all the time.
Boomers "treated" themselves to a house, land, and a new car. With vacations to Aruba, Jamaica, Bermuda, Bahama, Montego, and all those other classic island paradise get always.
Boomers worked, and got paid Overtime. They had strong unions that actually gave a shit about their members. They were paid enough to buy a house and had enough free time to go on family vacations/trips every summer.
Boomers cooked their brains with coke in the 80s.

Massa Boomer ain't gonna reward him for his loyalty for much longer. You know, with them all starting to die off within the next 10 years. More importantly Der Ewige Boomer is gonna blow all their money by getting scammed by the jeets they loved so much in their youth. It's poetry

Society will always say that people who have it bad deserve it. That's all this is.

I guarantee, if young people were not goycattle, and left countries where this happens, or collectively refused to pay taxes, no boomers would say that we're soft, lazy, or have it too good. They only say that because we're weak and struggling. They would do a 180 if we won and defeated them.

This is all designed to keep us fighting each other and to have a scapegoat instead of blaming the jews that have been going crazy with financial terrorism since the federal reserve was founded. All you people are doing is setting precedent for generations after you to blame everything on you instead of the new world order kikes.

My parents are boomers and this is bullshit. As a kid we went out for lunch every Sunday, vacationed in Florida for five days every summer, always had a small commuter car for my dad and a minivan for my mom, etc. mostly on my dad’s single income as a public school teacher (my mom worked as a teacher off an on but retired at like 45). We didn’t have a huge house and saved money in other ways, but the idea that middle-class boomers lived incredibly frugally to afford their homes is just asinine. A house worth $100k in the 1980’s is worth three times that much today. You don’t make up for that difference by simply never eating out (good luck keeping a wife let alone a gf if you refuse to take her out on dates btw).
>>
>>534104178
This, but also something else. Boomer products were priced sensibly. This is something I've learned by watching old re-runs of The Price is Right.

Back in the 70s and earlier, if something was a consumable or necessity, it generally cost pennies. But things like furniture, appliances, or other luxuries could cost as much as $1000 or more. The difference is that those things were intended to last multiple lifetimes and were well made, by American companies that have long since been offshored, sold, and dismantled for a quick buck.

Nowadays, luxuries and fixtures are comparitively cheaper because they're made by slave labor overseas and are intended to be constantly replaced. Meanwhile, necessities and consumables are disgustingly overpriced. This is why there's such a huge disconnect with boomers who criticize younger generations for mis-spending their money. They don't understand how much relative costs have changed. They're hard-coded to see the purchase of certain items as something that's eating up an entire month's paycheck or more, when that's simply no longer the case.
>>
boomers didn't travel or eat out because feminism wasn't a thing and you didn't need to do those thing back then to prevent a divorce rape. Also boomers are the biggest alcoholics around and they spent way more money in alcohol and expensive hobbies like cars.

To put this into proper context for your retarded ass, let's start here. For one, 24 +24 is 48. That's not "almost 40." That's almost 50. Secondly, as of 2024, the median personal income of adults in the US was 45k/y. So not only do we have a population balloon where declining birth rates have given us a higher portion of an aged population compared to decades/generations prior, but every 2 boomers is taking home more than the entire median income of one person. Not tax revenue from said income, but their entire income. Final point I'll add is that 20% of the population is 15-30. Meanwhile, 18% of the population is 67+ (retirement/SSI age.)

Lmao. I used to work IT for a place that was a 60+ mile drive. It was good pay so I didn't complain. My grandpa just used to tell me to ask my boss for a raise to offset my commute.

The other thing that's REALLY consistent with boomers in my life is that they seem to think every business/service exists to kiss their ass. They don't understand that these companies are all just trying to increase profits. Whenever prices get hiked, or service is poor, they're SO fucking indignant about it. Like absolutely aghast that some minimum wagie isn't bending over backwards to suck their balls and pay them for the privilege. They were taught that was how the world worked and they really won't let go.

Boomers want to morally castigate people for their behavior. The economy is all tied up with morality for them. You have to save, and struggle, and suffer. Then after all your hard work and suffering you get rewarded. They'll often tell you that your inability to buy a house is because of your moral failings. You bought too many Starbucks, you bought too many clothes....etc.
A house is like $1 million in many places.
If you spend $200/week eating out, that's $100,000 over 10 years. That's not adding up to a house bro

I'm an Xer. My parents were the boomers. All I remember is growing up in poverty. I'd watch television after school, and on all the shows they'd talk about yuppies, show all these nice big fancy houses. We were poor white trash, I knew that, it explained why our lives weren't like that... but I didn't see that anywhere. So, nigger, all I do is work, and that small home i mentioned cost me a great deal of sacrifice to be able to purchase, and its nothing to brag about but i love it for what it is. Boomers, by contrast, are 99% do-nothing know-nothing (or 1 trick pony) entitled larping faggots - theyre functionally retarded, always were, yet rode the fiat-system-sweet-spot gravy train to financial security, then orbital nuked the ladder they climbed up - more like an escalator.. boomers haven't worked for a damn thing, everyone knows boomers and vacations go together like peas and carrots.

Why do boomers do this when you could rightly say that a boomer could buy a radio for $25 even since the 70's while a person born in 1920 it would be a couple of months wages. Having a record player and fridge would seen like a huge luxury to them. It was the early stages of industrialism, why wouldn't you want the next gen to have it better.

>>534101602
Trying to be fair, boomer aged people rarely had things like new clothes or even access to stuff like KFC and certainly no fancy electronics for Christmas. Not quite like someone living in Thailand but just owing less stuff and dealing with it.

The main thing I think is that up to 2008 millenials were doing pretty good, houses were a bit more expensive but we were going to make it because of the tech boom.
If you look up news reports around 1979 there was a bit of recession that was fairly quick and a pretty big recession around 1990 where many people did lose homes so their 2008 would be the 87 stockmarket crash upto 1990.
If they could hold on bit after that they could make out like bandits.
That boom after the recession was supposed to happen to us too and it just didn't, actually their parents may not have either.

I think some of us boomers think since they got richer in 2000's it was a big deal but that would just have of their life or less. Yes I am annoyed that some of them decided that hoarding houses was a good investment strategy.

100% bullshit. My uncle purchased his home for 30k bagging groceries at Luckys. The jews have destroyed the value of our currency with inflation while simultaneously flooding the labor market with unwanted aliens to depress wages. We're also subjected to slave level taxation. The jewish investment firms are also buying up homes. The jews are stealing from us in every way they can.

>>
>>534104940
This is exactly where they obsessive over young people buying new phones and shit. Go watch an episode of The Price is Right in the first couple of seasons. A sheets set was like $70 back then. It was US made, of course, but still. The minimum wage was like $1.50/hour, rent was like $110 per month lol. So 2 sheet sets would be worth more than one rent. You can find sheets sets for $80 today.

But even WITH consumer goods being much more expensive back then, they STILL managed to buy them but they also had houses.

I would honestly say that life was easier back during even the 1910's than today too.

Like for example, we always see images of families living in poverty while their dad works 12 hours a day in a mine, not considering that:

>The family consists of 10 fucking kids
>The dad was an illiterate immigrant that couldn't even read his mother tongue
>He still literally just shook hands with the boss for the job

Meanwhile today:

>Still have to eat rice and beans despite being only one person
>May have a Master's fucking degree in a STEM field

it's 100% true and many people need to finally take that bitter pill.
most people who buy a house have to take a loan or work their asses off all day taking overtime at work (or both actually) or doing their own businesses, if they eat out it's at some obscure place that offers cheap food they can eat after all days work, they barely travel, like once every few years etc. they don't even have time to consoom stuff, and most of them were just raised that way, to work hard and be disciplined
meanwhile your average faggot crying about houses shortage have ZERO discipline and don't want to resign from all the stuff they got used to, and won't take a loan to buy a house, because they don't want to be stuck in one place for many years.
a decent person goes to school, gets a degree or learn a usefull skill, and their next step is to find a woman, take a loan, buy a house and work and build a family in one place, it's not perfect, but actually many of them are happy with that, this is your normal straight thinking person. then you have your average deranged faggot who just wants to keep with their hedonistic lives, never start a family or do it "later" into the life which basically means never, and on top of that they want to be able to get a house, it doesn't work that way, unless you're highly qualified and got a great job, but it happens less and less nowadays.

and this will keep on going, and idiots will keep on complaining not realising that they're part of the problem, and that their vision of the world is just a utopia. everyone is a problem except me.
that's why WW3 will happen sooner or later, because those motherfuckers don't know how good they have it, so they need to taste despair, real povery, hunger, not being able to wash for weeks at a time etc. only then they will remember good old times and wish to rebuild their lives from start with more realistic view for the world.

I don't think also they realize that 18% on a $50K house is still much less interest than 7% on a $400K house.

This. The difference for boomers was that "overtime" was something you did when you had the time to spare, and it rewarded you. You worked "overtime" or got a second job short term and you could use that money to buy a fucking boat or a second house. Nowadays most people work overtime just to keep their head above water.

Seriously this with the OT. Most of the companies I worked at never offered OT. Or, when I worked at this one company they had a "zero OT policy" that we all had to sign and agree to. One time I worked like 10 minutes of OT and like a few days later I am called into my manager's office and his boss is there too. They then take the next 30 or minutes to rip me apart about working 10 minutes of OT. I couldn't believe because it was only 10 minutes and it only happened once.

>Worked overtime all the time

This is code for
>were absent for their kids childhoods were either neglectful or abusive.

They genuinely preferred the workplace over the home. Most of the married boomers I know are miserable and have constructed (often literally) elaborate escapes from reality. They didn’t see their kids as offspring to be raised, but pets, competition, or just something you were expected to have. Like a sports car and a family dog. Not to teach or raise or pass on generational knowledge.

I can forgive the boomers a lot. Between the outright jewish perfidy they lived under, to the lead fumes they inhaled with every living breath turning their brains into wax. But I cannot forgive that they knowingly - and uncaringly - broke the chain of knowledge, tradition and culture passed down from Father to Son since time immemorial, leaving their children to flounder for meaning and fundamental life skills; in a period of unprecedented historical upheaval and demographic existential threat.

They will go down in history eclipsing names like Caligula and Nero. A thousand years from now, actual parents will be teaching their children about The Boomer Generation, as an object lesson in human greed and apathy.

Good morning, retards, hope you're all doing well despite your ignorance and confusion. Every generation has unique cultural circumstances that are relevant only to it and only for a relatively short time, never to happen again.
One truth, throughout history, that never changes, and never will is this:
Character determines destiny.
Who "you" can become.
Self-improvement is never a waste of time. You're going to make it and I want you all to achieve success - which is not necessarily related to material possessions.
Your Character determines everything in every situation every moment you're alive. Who "you" can achieve becoming. And I'm pretty certain the spirit (feeling) of Gratitude is an important piece of the puzzle.
>>
>>534116652
You guys both a have a point. Though I side with your view more. It's the time and effort to get something takes far more time and effort then before. The mustang analogy is perfect. Even in the early 2000s a young man working in retail could get that type of car and get insurance that was relatively affordable. Now, at least in the Democratic People's Republic of California, that insurance would be like $2,000-$3,000+ per year and the car would be extremely expensive. Factor in the high cost of gas it's way too much. My boomer parents obtained loans from family to purchase their mustangs and paid back their family while working on the farm or in retail.

we could've doordash'd 5 times/week. we could've lived in a $6k/mo luxury apartment. we could've upgraded our cars.

you've got to live within your means and put enough money towards the things that are important goals. the housing market is what it is and it isn't going to "come to you."

also, focus on your career. you're not going to make "make it" money fucking around with crypto or options or whatever else. even if you do well, a reliable income is a key to almost anything you want to do in life.

Well, that's just bullshit. The teenage Boomer earning minimum wage could afford median rent in a little over a week's work. He could pay for a year's worth of college working a part time summer job. And don't forget the quality of their food was much higher. All of their food was organic by default. They had home cooked food because their mothers were not in the work force. Their society was so far above what exists today that no amount of money can buy it back. They knew their neighbors. There was common decency and high trust. There were almost no non-Whites. And they burned all that to the ground. The only thing they sacrificed was the future.

I'm 60 and I can confirm this. Eating out was a treat when I was a kid. Mom cooked every night. We went on 2 vacations, once to Disney in 1970 and once to Six Flags in 1976. When I was older and had kids, I worked from 8am until 8pm. However, we were playing QUAKE on the lan at work after 5, so I'm not sure if that counts. But I did stay late a LOT.
