appalachia is an irl video game where you drive past worn down housing and can't quite tell if it is abandoned or occupied

>>534122624
it's kinda interesting given all the rhetoric about self reliance and then you get these rural estates that are just a run down trailer and a bunch of rusted out junk in the yard and on the porch

This is more reachable according to my economic situation, and the answer is a resounding yes. I'm surrounded by white people who likely own a lot of guns.
You can't buy that kind of peace of mind, anon.

many boomers spent their childhood in newly built suburban neighborhoods which were bare and treeless. boomers yearn to return to something that feels like their youth.

House no 2 comes with 1-3k per month tax bill.
The mobile home can be replaced for maybe 20k and then you have no tax.
>>
>>534122561
Why not just scrap that abandoned mobile home? It even has a trailer hitch still attached.

If you actually want to live in a small/manufactured house you can buy them for very cheap new.

Even cozy little cabins get finished with silica-slop interior finishes. Apparently a lot of workers get silicosis from cutting these materials to size for say, counters.
real metal, wood, brick is always gonna be more expensive than plastislop

You have no idea how different central WV/Southern OH, KY, PA, eastern TN are from the rest of the country, much as IN, IL, MO, AR, IA, KS, MI, WI are like their own micro-Appalachia with their ozark hillbillies and midwesterners.
>>534122561
This already has a new roof, highly maintainable, so long as you keep the crawlspace ventilated and moisture under control (a tall order in the middle of the woods), this house will outlast the wannabe hunting lodge by half a century or more.

Can’t you transport that crap to your local designated “dumping ravine”(wherever locals toss worn out tires), while dropping off the scrap metal at your local scrapper’s place(easily identifiable by the hundreds of washing machines and home appliances in various states of disassembly/sorting)?

No such thing anon. Old tires are good for thousands of uses.
I got a good size pile of them behind the house I get from the local tire shop.

far right pillar looking sketch
should probably get on to looking at that but I suppose they are not too concerned about it

Second looks like something only a Donald would buy and only as status symbol. I don't want to live in a terrarium. First looks like an old man home that needs some serious work and some fresh paint. The roof seems to be okay, so the interior is probably okay either. Give me two weeks and I'll make it shine.

hot and humid in the summer, but it is 1000-2000 ft elevation hills so it's not as bad as the coastal plain, can be snowy and icy in the winter, definitely cold, but nothing too crazy
crime is pretty low
mostly quiet and clean but there's still loud diesel trucks and atvs and machinery but not quite as much outright farming more recreational estates

boomers who like horses

Okay, I'll take it. I assume I don't have a pay for it and don't have to look for work to support myself. I can just retire there, right?

well, I guess that's one of my actual issues, it just doesn't seem like a community
America is very every man for himself and I think that creates a lot of pain and suffering when people struggle and others don't reach out to help.

The only real community spaces that are free are churches and obviously that's about imposing morality, there's little casual community spirit and America is so artificially fearful of "communism".
