Those are the last weapons Europe has and the last money europeans can spend. You can not dream of a better place to destroy it as Ukraine, where each cm of soil is transparent for your strike as if they would bring it in the middle of the Red Square, nothing can stay hidden. When the battle shifts to west, every strike will become more expensive for Russia due to higher chance to miss valuable targets in Poland or somewhere Germany. When they bring staff to Ukraine they make a literal gift and keep the economic ratio of war the most advantages for Russia. It is only a question of time and is in the hands of Russia when to make the move and take over the enemy. The later it can postpone it and keep in Ukraine the cheaper will be the victory. Keeping the war in Ukraine NATO shoots itself in the head and considers it a great strategic move.
