When you go back and look at the decisive factors it becomes clear the reason behind such a swift victory was less to do with "shock and awe" and more related to two key points, namely the corruption of the Iraqi military and the technological overmatch between Iraq and the US at the time. Iraq had a military highly susceptible to decapitation due to the extreme paranoia and lack of cross-training or just any training of lower ranking personnel in general. Meanwhile the US had GPS, satellite communications, computerized much of their support and command staff, possessed laser range finders, smart bombs and high resolution satellite imagery. Due to the level of technological proliferation around the globe it is unlikely the US will ever be able to replicate this success ever again, GWOT boomers can cope and seethe.
