Next time frigate question was asked from them, they decided to turn the frigate into slightly smaller Burke, with only slightly lower costs. Burke itself is about upgraded as much as it can be. So Ticos and older Burkes were supposed to be replaced with next gen destroyer that would have been basically bigger and more modern Burke with more upgrade potential. Given that Trump-class is going ahead, I'd don't see DDG (X) having any budget left.
