Amsterdam is survivor bias. Housing is extremely difficult to get or build or improve on. Jobs are all middleware for banks or the ICC or The Hague, using a car in amsterdam is impossible. Insuring your house or apartment is expensive. More than half of adults that dont live with their family (so of the 45 percent that dont live at home) most under 40 live with roommates and look for aparments with roommates.
