Finlands computer part retailer verkkokauppa dotcom (.com is included in official name of the corporation) has put RAM, SSD and GPU behind locked cabins to predict thievery

nobody would even attempt to download a big computer case but RAM is another matter, it fits your pocket

>"we didnt put RAM sticks smaller than 8GB behind lock and key, people are interested in bigger ones", the store mentioned

>"there was a few cases of thieves but they were quickly caught with use of surveillance cameras, regardless of them being caught we felt safer to put very expensive stuff behind locked glass doors"

>the thieves are interested in re-selling the stolen RAM sticks on online internet marketplaces with phony description of the goods like "RAM upgraded to even bigger ones and these are now extra so I am selling, however the original purchasing receipt has been lost due to my carelessness so there is likely no warranty but they do work"
