That's it, the country is done. It used to cost 2€ and was twice as big in 2019
Now you have to make your own food instead of buying overpriced trash made out of subpar ingredients

>>534193232Didn't know you guys had kebabs too. Weird name for it though, souvlaki? Just say kebab lol
>>5341932325€ is roughly $8 Canadian. If your five euro sandwich looks like what I'm seeing in the picrel image, that would be a considered one hell of a fucking bargain here these days. It cost me $17 at the grocers for the frozen utility duck I used to make my dinner last night. The airplane bottle of orange liqueur was over six bucks!
>>534193232pork and beef I buy from my local butcher hasn't increased that much in price. perhaps a ~15% hike since 2019, still affordable.>>534193979that's not a kebab you stupid mongoloid, that's a gyro, kabab is meat on a skewer.
>>534193232Minimum wage 5.5/hrSo you have to work one hour to buy one souvlaki. That's fucked up.
>>534193232Nobody knows what the FUCK that is
>>534194331>5 million tourists a year, everyone tried souvlaki>Thousands of Greek restaurants in the USIt's just you, the rest of the world knows.

>>534193717why does he do it
>>534195603Sure, why not? Though I'd recommend dicing pork chops or chicken breast instead.>>534195671Doesn't apply to neighbors anymore.
>>534193643It's very good. I would even posit that it's better than the doner kebab which is itself also good>>534193926It's not because it has pork. But idk why what looks like a gyro to me here is called souvlaki when that was always skewered meat to me (very excellent btw)>>534195973It needs a coal-fire grill, though, doesn't it. I tried to make it on an electric grill a few times and it just wasn't it sadly
>>534194206>sandwichFuck off northern greek
>>534195253>basedvlaki
>>534197681(I meant about souvlaki on a skewer. Kalamaki in Athens? That. Oh that's why a gyro is called souvlaki btw lol, okay)
>>534193232I am from kerkyra originally, this upsets me a great deal brother.
>>534197681>But idk why what looks like a gyro to me here is called souvlaki You're right, it's kinda complicated. Originally, souvlaki is indeed the skewered meat. In official terms: Souvlaki (skewered meat), Pita Souvlaki (wrapped skewered meat), Gyros (meat shavings), Pita Gyros (wrapped meat shavings). But most people nowadays mostly get pita gyros and for quickness they just call it souvlaki amongst them. Like hey let's get souvlaki. But when you order, you need the original names.
>>534198378cool, thanks
>>534198378Interesting. Here gyros are quite popular in deli fast food places and are usually made of beef or lamb whereas what we call souvlaki use chicken instead
>>534193232But it tastes like shit, why do you eat it?
>>534198626Chicken for souvlaki is good, I actually prefer it because the meat is more tender. But lamb for gyros is the first I've ever heard of. Is it any good?
