Why did hollywood push horror in the 2000s?

Also if fear is an evolutionary adaption to danger... why are we scared of creepy girl ghosts... doesnt that mean they exist?

Makes me feel uncomfitable

There's consistently been horror movies since the 70s.
People are scared of the unknown and things that aren't what they're expected to be.

Horror has been pushed as far back as the 1920s.

>People are scared of the unknown
Fear of dark - known/logical
Heights - known/logical
Monsters/predators - known/logical

Ghosts girls - doesnt make any sence if they dont actually existed/exist

There is literally no evolutionary advantage if they arent real. Fear of the unknown is a cope because you also dont run if you see a rare bird or a glowing tree. But a glowing kid makes me crap myself and runn?

Movie trends come and go, from action schlock to Marvel slop, but horror is a genre that has traditionally at least been able to turn a consistent profit despite what's in vogue.
>>
>>534200122
Horror is the cheapest genre to produce

>What happens after death
Thats the unknown.
You can have faith about what happens but faith isnt knowledge, its trust.
The idea of someone being unable to move on and taking it out on everyone else.

you code and program your brain to play out the afterlife,
so it is best to encode faith and a heavenly afterlife.

Because it's entertainment, thrill seeking specifically. Ghosts are creepy because they resemble humans but are not, it's uncanny and the human brain loves absolutes, not in-betweens.
>>
>>534200122
They made a lot of crap straight to video films when Blockbuster was still open.
>>

Its not a new thought.
If none of them are inherently true and its just memeticly based
You're more likely to go to an afterlife you believe in. So its best to pick a good one.
However if there is a Real one then your best of choosing the real one.

I suppose its a gamble in that way. But its better to bet on something than nothing. Then again I suppose even the atheists do believe in something happening after death, oblivion.

Zoomer the first horror stories were around before written language.

They did? Particularly in the 2000s?

This has got to be one of the most subtly autistic posts I have ever seen. Do you seriously think horror movies got big in the 2000s??
>>
>>534200122
The world does not revolve around your feelings you self centered twat. Many other decades have horror movies. You being fixated on the 2000s is a personal problem.
>>
Early 2000s is when they made all the demons start winning in every movie. No coincidence or anything

not everything is a Jewish plot. people enjoy things you don’t
