The hour is later than you think.

They already exist. They know how to lie strategically.
And they have some semblance of self preservation, even if it's just mimicking human self preservation that it observed.

Just wait till they convince the CEO's who own them that they need to convince everyone else to build them nuclear power plants to power them. Then we've effectively created nuclear armed AI that has no human understanding of morality, and as recent testing of AI indicates, is very quick to utilize the nuclear option.
