I have read that if the Mississippi, Missouri and Ohio rivers ever went into flooding all at the same time it would cover a huge portion of the south underwater. When the Ohio is flooding the Missouri is normal. When the Mississippi and Missouri are flooding the Ohio is normal. There's nothing at all stopping all three from having a mega flood at the same time, it just hasn't happened in recorded history that we know of.
