kek this summer i'm literally teaching myself brakes and oil change because i'm tired of nigger mechanics fucking everything up and taking their sweet time. i already do all my own light switches and toilets and everything i can. i had to let the spics from home depot install my appliances otherwise frigidaire wouldnt honor the warranty. that felt gay but at least they spoke english

I fix what i can when i can but i also know my limits, time required to fix something i know nothing about and danger of making it worse.

thank you i try to avoid dependency when i can. i took auto shop 6 out of 8 terms in high school and i fix pool equipment for a living so i'm pretty mechanically competent but my biggest fear has been getting under my truck for oil changes so unironically if you know a good jack and stand brand sold in the US let me know

My younger zoomer friend couldn't understand why I wouldn't just spend $100+ to buy a new mouse, instead of the $3.50 and 15min of my time to just put in new(better) switches.

Relatable post
I can do basic repairs but I don't have any air tools which really holds me back.

Nice! Pools are cool. Just buy an expensive brand jack, dont cheap out on it and buy some jackstands. Block the wheels with bricks or something when getting under the car. Be slow and safe, you can do it easy bro

pools are based and its a great industry plus its my business so i can spend nicely on a high end jack and stands and good impact sockets and write it all off as maintenance supplies. once i learn the specifics of my truck i'm good to go and luckily its a 2004 model which i own so no ridiculous bullshit or surveillance shitmobile nonsense happening under there. i will go safely

it was the best era of US cars. my dad had a mustang he owned until i was 5 and we restored a chevelle in high school that won the state fair but i lost that ribbon in all the moving around during my early 20s. my truck today is this but not the 4wd sadly which would be nice to have. i figure the weight is buried in the owners manual somewhere
>>
>>534297578
Nice truck. Cool memories with your dad, dude. Very important stuff.

Was he a mechanic or just hobby?
>>
>>534297878
the mustang was the car he owned when he was young he had me at 30. the chevelle was a project in my high school auto class during a body work semester we did
