WHAT THE FUCK?

HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?

HOW DO YOU PAY MORE THAN $30K FOR A CAR IN THE USA?
>>
Because they are imported directly from Shanghai so the US doesn't get to tariff them.
>>
At that price it's still a scam. Why would you get a Model 3 when you can get a Civic Hybrid for the same money except it'll last 5 times as long, doesn't lose half its range in the winter, and has an actual interior with buttons
>>
>>534324060
Well I don't, I work on my own car, i could spend 10-15k and a week of work replacing every part on my car with a new one.

Basically if I ever buy another car it's because I wake up one day and say.

>fuckit i'm lazy this week I'm gonna burn 30k.

The crazy shit is that if I do this with a chance of making my money back it's called gambling.

>t. 3D puzzle enjoyer
>>
>>
>>534324299
Because civics have plastic valve covers and will degrade just as quickly
>>
americans are so fucking stupid
>>
>>534324685
just replace them with better material, ya dingus
>>
>>534324060
Can you go to Canada an just buy one? What's the big deal
>>
Canadian Teslas have L VINs.
>>
>>534324060
>HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?

Government EV subsidy paid for by your taxes.
>>
>>534324060
starting with obunga, tesla has relied heavily on customers getting govt subsidies to buy teslas.
trump kept the subsidies btw
>>
A lot of shit is actually cheaper in Canada but Chudnadians are stupid and dont realize exchange rates exist so when a loaf of bread is $4 in New York and $4.50 in Ontario it's cheaper up there.
>>
>>534324060
>10,000 dollarino saving on a loan you’re gonna take with insane interest anyway!
Stupid people will think this is a deal
>>
>>534325219
It's extremely common to get American change at stores when you pay with cash. I get like $10 worth of change a year in USD just buying random shit.
>>
>>534324060
Tesla was selling cars where the range was limited at a cheaper price in order to meet some of the provincial subsidies. Sort of like how Intel first came up with the Celeron where they deliberately lobotomized it to make it slower and cheaper.
>>
>>534324060
you can buy an S or E class from 2005 for 1/10th that price.
>>
>>534325449
Even in NYC I would find maple coins occasionally.
>>
>>534324299
Because civics are gay
>>
>>534326065
teslas are way gayer
obguna was all about them and he was our first openly gay president (trump is the second btw)
>>
Their cars are shit here for half of the year, and our charging infrastructure is both ass, and literally cannot handle mass adoption of EVs without the power grid being pushed to the brink. Same will be the case for the Chink EVs. Less value relative to their use-case in the USA.
>>
>>534326932
at least the chinks are developing sodium ion batteries and theyre pretty much ready for mass adoption.
im sure teslaniggers will find some excuse to never upgrade and jeetlon will lobby to make sure sodium ion batteries are banned here.

>make cars with American tax dollars
>sell them for cheaper to non-Americans
WHY IS NOBODY DYING?!

If you're spending that much money on car and it's not a sportscar, you're fucking up.

Americans don't have enough guns yet to fight against tyranny.
>>
>>534324299
Model 3 is way nicer than a civic, its more comparable to the accord, and the accord is gay
>>
>>534324060
Canadians have lower salaries so this seems fair

got my model 3 for like $16k with the EV credit, it has 200k+ miles now and still has equity lol
>>

Why would you get the hybrid when you can get a Honda Civic with spoon engine, T66 turbo with NOS, and a Motec system exhaust?

Can I just buy it in Canada and drive back into the US?

Elon's appealing to the jeet market, he knows they love his cars

>Nicer
All amenities are immediately negated by the obnioxous laggy touchscreen. I rented one in Cali and couldn't wait to get back to my shitty Kia that has actual tactile buttons for things.
>>
>>534328053
no because it's a tesla car it comes with a subscription service and they shut it down if you don't follow the rules.
>>
>>534327387
>"and void your warranty"
ez
>warranty still in place
>make warranty claim instead
Then
>warranty no longer in place
>replace parts with more durable replacements
I think sourcing compatible and more durable components would be the difficult part. There isn't money to be made from parts that last for these companies.
>>
It's happening!
>Source: Literally Who? on twitter.
>>
>>534324060
Imagine wasting your money on a EV.
>>
>>534324060
THATS BECAUSE OF THE IMPORT FEES
TESLAS HAS TO BE IMPORTED FRO-

It is slowly sinking in to Americans, who pays Trump's tariffs
>>
usually everything costs more in canada
like the steam controller, $100 usd in the us. but in canada is $149 cad despite the exchange rate being 1.37 so it should be $137 cad.

this is common in almost everything and usually the reason is just because canadians will put up with it so why not. we also have lower wages and higher taxes so our best and brightest often move to the states
>>
>>534326065
why? they're usually the most reliable car of any particular year, along with the toyota corolla. but the civics have better aesthetics and actually look half decent. whats wrong with that? some people just want to get from a to b and don't need an amount of horsepower they will never be able to legally use on a highway just to compensate for a small penis.
>>
>>534326932
i dunno we have a lot of uranium and a lot of nuclear reactors and hydro power, we're a net exporter of electricity. if anyone can do this it might be us. we are shit at damn near everything but do have some rare good things going for us. my hydro bill is still too damn high but thats probably to pay for parasitic bureaucratic bloat.
>>
>>534324299
>half it’s range in the winter
Knew immediately you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about after reading this, opinion discarded.
>>
>>534327283
some electrics use lifepo4 batteries, not as much energy density but they don't catch fire the same way other lithium batteries do. byds new blade 2 batteries are lifep04 and charge in 9 minutes to full, which would make the lower range less of a big deal if we had the charging infrastructure, this won't be coming to canada at first however, but they are building thousands of byd charging stations in europe and have tens of thousands in china (they they built and developed in less than a year, damn those chinks are fast)
>>
>>534328180
i'd rather chinks spy on me than yanks
>>
>>534324060
I had a Model S for 6 years, I went and sold it years ago for a Tacoma.
I will never buy another EV again.

There's a reason they're $10,000 cheaper here. The market is dead. Anyone that owned one understands why. They can't handle the winters. Especially in the winter.
Had it for 2 years in SK and it was absolute hell.

Never again. I don't care how good they claim EVs get, i will never buy another one.
>>
>>534324060
Wake me up when you guys get the $39K Cybertruck Elon promised.
>>
>>534324060
How do electric cars last our -40c winters? Someone in my neibourhood leaves their tesla out and somehow still runs. Doesn't plug it in or fuck all?
>>
Didnt tesla sales crater here when the guy running the company was working with the guy calling for the annexation of Canada? Supply and demand and all that.
>>
>>534325449
I remember shopping with my parents, they’d give me Canadian pennies whenever they’d get them. Not that long ago, I got a Canadian quarter out a quarter machine at a laundromat, of all places. I think it’s a 67, the year you guys stopped your silver coin production half way through. Still haven’t figured out whether it’s silver or not
