So, I assume that neither the stars nor the sun are accurate methods when you're in the middle of that kind of sorcery.My hypothesis is that the witch performs various rituals using rocks around the victims I'm not sure if it has to be exactly three points with the victims in the center of the triangle, or if there are more points involved. But once they are inside, space and time distort, moving them further into the past the more they walk until the full ritual is complete

>>534345015also, if you have a watch and keep track of light vs dark time to the minute? when its exactly the same amount of day and night, you know its an equinox. You can use the moon as a calendar. Its on a strict 28 day schedule from new moon to new moon. The longest night is around december 20, the shortest night is around jun 20. Lots of little tidbits like this would be handy if you were dropped off somewhere with nothing.
