Because Arab identity is independent of ancestry and genetics. It's much more cultural/religious. White is a racial classification based on ancestral genetics. New Worlders, or more specifically Latinx, who claim to be white are automatically suspect because whiteness doesn't mean race in Latin America. They think being white is purely physical and accept mixed individuals as white if they pass. There is no way that Brazil has 91 million individuals who have absolutely no African or Amerindian ancestry. The majority of those people are white passing or identify as looking white(or "whiter" than average), but are not truly white genetically.
