They cannot become the big Han. In this, the small German takes the glory of the big German into himself. When Hitler conquers Poland, all Germans take glory in this accomplishment. We can see today with the Iran and Ukraine wars how easily "civilized democratic" peoples go into this ooga booga mode. When Trump bombs Iran, all Americans become the big American.
