They have to put that language in there because of SEC law. If they advertised it as having any kind of guaranteed or implied return, it would technically be a securities instrument and open it up to a whole shitshow of liabilities.
>>534391510
It's just a crowdfunded effort to rescue Spirit.

Some comedian on insta/tiktok came up with the idea and set this up to gauge interest and it absolutely exploded, so he's exploring it for real. For some reason normies want to save the jungle zoo of air carriers.

This campaign has nothing to do with left vs. right, it was started by a tiktok eceleb voice actor named Hunter Peterson who's an unironic spirit airlines fan. The guy did a video where he flew 24 hours straight with them. Once again, Spirit is a fucking madhouse jungle of a carrier where they have to have dedicated airport police stationed at their terminals.

>SPIRIT AIRLINES HAS A GOFUNDME TO BUY IT AND TURN IT INTO A CO-OP
American corporation run by the best and brightest it could afford to hire, in an extremely competitive market files for bankruptcy.

Delusional broke Leftards that could only afford to fly discount think they can pool resources together to buy it from bankruptcy and run it better.

Gee I wonder how it will go? No, seriously I cant figure out how that would turn out can somebody explain it to me?

>a completely unprecedented crowdfunding effort to buy an airline famous for producing nigger pandemonium incidents every year isn't political
>>534391987
They can't take money yet because the SEC would rape them if they structure the buyout attempt incorrectly or make any number of tiny mistakes. If they mishandle investor funds or put anything about guaranteed or even implied returns, the guy could face prison time.
>>534392127
What's unfortunate about this is that most people pledging interest don't really understand that major institutional investors get a proportional percentage of voting power that pretty much renders small time donors ineffective. I predict, if this thing is successful, private equity will just sneak in and buy the airline using the initiative with absolutely zero consequences
>>
>>534392203

>>534392310
It would be pretty funny if they voted for high definition video / audio recording in all Spirit terminals so we can get multiple angles of chimpouts, but beyond that it's a bit of a nothingburger. I think Peterson shot his load a bit early and converting the pledgers into real money raised will be increasingly more difficult with every day that passes.
>>
>>534391597
They probably just want more police cam footage of drunk drugged up retards. Not like there's any shortage of that elsewhere but Spirit had some good ones.

FYI the site says it's sending out verification emails but I tested it and it's not.
IDK if they're even recording anything that's submitted. If they were then everyone ITT could all pledge $100k like I did and maybe someone somewhere would be gullible enough to believe it.

Spirit owes around 8 billion in debt and most of their assets are in fact leased. To avoid that debt you'd have to purchase the assets and have to co-op incorporate as a new entity. Outright purchasing a company drowning in debt and undergoing bankruptcy is a very bad idea.

>>534391159

Lmao. How's that railway in California going? Not a single rail laid down after a decade and billions in taxpayers money. Oh and not just California taxpayers. The federal government was giving those retards money. The same money wise democrats in Cali spent thousands to relocate a common shrub that garden nurseries sell. Not even sure if it lived.
>>
>>534392327
Yeah this would be employee controlled, not owned. The ownership is part of the reason why it works. If they're just voting without having skin in the game it's just democracy, and that's terrible.

>we're going to crowdfund half a billion dollars
That would be hilarious because of how fast they would get fucked up down and sideways after acquisition and immediately fall back into market pricing.
>>
>>534397939
the goal is 1.75B. The counter broke at 80 million dollars because of the site traffic so it seems doable
>>
>>534397939
Their only hope is if they somehow raise enough to make the acquisition deal slightly more palatable for big money venture capital, and I have absolutely zero faith that they'd secure a deal without said venture capital giving themselves outsized voting rights in exchange for the final push of funding they need to finalize the deal.
It's a novel effort, and it's fucking hilarious, but the whole concept is based on some pretty spectacular naivete on the part of small pledgers who really believe they're going to have a real voting impact on the operation of the airline even if it turns out exactly like they think it will.
