The unironic racists are the most vocal, but there are not enough of those to swing an election. Instead what drove people to Trump was the promise he made to fix things for them that no one else was bothering to pretend to give a shit about. The left and the right are both disenfranchised by the politicians, MAGA gained popularity and power because Trump kept promising he would drain the swamp and the DNC kept trying to pretend that everythingw as fine and business could continue as usual. Trump's promises were all bullshit, but people still cling to them because its all they have. You cut the heart out of MAGA and kill the movement as dead as the dinosaurs simply by improving their lives, removing that desperation. Simply perform good governance to the benefit of the common man, not the wealthy elite, and watch the movement simply melt away. If you can actually meaningfully improve their lives after a decade of being left on the hook with nothing to show for it by Trump and the republicans, you'll buy their loyalty for life.
