Since most people who book with Spirit do it within 2 weeks of their flight (meaning not that far in advance), the other airlines would basically undercut them on say 20 seats on a similar flight within that 2 week window.This would take a flight that would normally end up being break even or perhaps profitable for Spirit as a loss now because those 20 passengers got poached by other airlines intentionally sniping them.Now that Spirit is gone, all prices will go up regardless of jet fuel prices. This is yet another power grab and consolidation.
