The American side has no veteran diplomats, has unrealistic demands and hasn't mentally accepted being the one in greater need of a deal. I'm sure they're still demanding that there can be no peace without Iran handing over its nuclear material which it will never do. With that in mind, the IRGC launching strikes to restart the war is pretty smart. The longer the war goes on the more Iran will get at the negotiating table.
