most popular easy find all solutions and it is best to start after windows

My grand ma can install and use linux mint on old PC from garage

Everything just works "Out Of The Box", without the need to configure anything or to install extra applications. It's ready to go. Although it's very configurable, everything is set and tuned nicely by default and no unnecessary questions are asked.

Easy and useful
>routine update breaks everything
never happen all I do is click 'ON' and 'OFF' works every time for ever never ever head any problem

You can use Linux mint Debian edition long time
...
why I talking to you ? go fuck your self

Truth is I never met any one going back from linux mint to the windows THAT IS A FACT

and shit is totally free of charge

From what I understand Copy-Fail is a local only exploit and I just checked my distro, Artix, and it's been patched. Just pushed updates to be sure, checked their official bug/fix report and I'm all patched up. But it is concerning this was out in the wild for so long but being a local only exploit really limits it's scope and spread.

>>
>>534487094
It only works if executed locally.
There have been hundreds of privilege escalation exploits that work on Windows ever since the 90's.
>>
>>534491110
If you’re running content management systems or other applications that have remote interfaces and allow users to trigger some type of exploit on the application level that allows them to run commands then it becomes remote. I guess you didn’t think about that. CMS’s are notoriously horrible for this type of behavior.

The reason why open source GNU/Linux and the Linux kernel is amazing it’s because there are literally hundreds of millions of people looking at the code transparently, auditing it, finding problems, and fixing them. Red Hat Enterprise Linux used to be one of the best before IBM bought them and destroyed their upstream development and downstream community pipelines intentionally trying to seek profit. However the hive mind collective community development style of open source software still remains. This is why Linux is better than anything proprietary and always will be. This is why government through NGOs have purchased and destroyed any organized effort that exists around opensource software.

That's not how viruses work nor how OS's become compromised. Linux is a more hardened OS from the ground up and it's open source nature makes exploits harder to hide or harder to be implanted vs M$ which is closed source. 90% of the world's most important computers run Linux or Unix so many more valuable targets run Linux vs Windows. Windows is for retarded end users and workstations which even if compromised are still beholden to linux servers and routers. You're literally retarded and need to stop.

Privilege escalation for users ALREADY LOGGED IN to the system.
Big fucking yawn.
I realize it constitutes a serious issue within that context, but almost every modern infrastructure doesn't let anyone on the systems in the first place, and you'd have to have a bad actor within your users who wants to take advantage of it.
If you're giving SSH access of any sort to a bad actor, you were probably already fucked.

it gives you sudo powers, admin rights without being one. That said its not a remote code execution vulnerability so it needs to be paired with another attack. That said this happens constantly, both for linux and windows. For example, recently in Windows a bug was discovered where you could stall windows defender by putting a file lock (feature that doesnt exist on linux) on the copy of a file that defender is scanning, and by doing that defender is unable defend itself from another exploit that makes you able to run commands with defenders rights (super admin). Specifically there are three recent critical attacks on windows defender: bluehammer, redsun and undefend

The vast majority of attacks have a social engineering component. Trick Debbie from accounts with a malicious spreadsheet to open a simple rat, rat to admin, admin to treasure island. The problem is even with hardening training, users are still dumb as shit. The only solution is to not have any users at all.
>>
>>534499689
debbie from accounts will still have app-level account, if she has system account your corp is managed by jeets and this exploit is your least worry

it's bullshit narrative pushed by anthropic PR, https://www.reddit.com/r/LocalLLaMA/comments/1sgrfp1/local_small_llms_found_the_same_vulnerabilities/
the magical mythos (reeee you need tk stop chyna from having this tech, muh wwAI) findings have been reprod using much smaller models, it's all fucking anthropic astroturf

AI DISCOVERS A VULNERABILITY BUILT INTO LINUX KERNEL BY NSA OR CHINA.
wow! AI is soooo good now.

What's with all these complaints about linux that seem like the last time they ran it was decades ago? Printers always work on linux with ZERO issues. Go download some weird driver on some jeeted website and wait for Microshaft wangblows to become a subscription service you dumb jeets and kikesuckers.

talking out your ass. I bought a bottom of the line, cheapest laptop wal mart had ten years ago back then. Installed Linux Mint on it. Ten *years* later? Boots up quicker than a newer laptop running any version of windown. Never failed to boot up, and quickly. Never slowed down once. Turns off in a couple seconds flat. If you're smart enough to put your HOME folder on a separate partition on the hard drive, you can wipe the OS partition and install the newer version and keep going without a hiccup. All free, all software is free as well. You couldn't PAY me to go back to Windoze.

And then they have the audacity to spam 4chan with jeet geniuses like

>you know some people use computer dor work?
I have a *free( full version OFFICE suite, as good and even better than the (costs money) windoze version. I have every version of windows running virtually and can use any windows software I feel like if i want or need.

Is this a bot?
>>534498708
Thought you were crazy at first, but now I see that you have simply been a Linux user for a number of years
>>
>>534501298
funny, how the guy pointing out winows lpe's are even more common than linux is triggering your bot detection and not the saar jeet reposting saargpt with potential exploits and attack vectors like... Drupal having system accounts (literally never seen such retardation, but AI says it's a possible attack vector kek), go on post some ai screenshots how this is important enough to spam /pol/ about and not an astroturf

Since 2021, actually. Python 3.10 is the first version that includes the function needed to execute the vulnerability

Docker is bullshit. Can this vulnerability be used to escape an actual vm container (like qemu)? I suppose it can't.

Which is the same problem with Linux, that its kernel and distro developers are all Jewish 8200 glownigs inserting backdoors.

It's the backbone of the entire internet and infinitely more secure than microslop. Appleniggers stole their shit from linux.

What alternatives are you imagining there are, retard?
>>
>>534487094
it you can't exploit your way to escalating to root as a local user on every flavor of linux ever made in under 15 minutes of fucking around in the shell you're basically retarded... these posix style operating systems were not designed with this kind of security in mind and it shows
>>
>>534487094
Its already patched
