there is no harm in doing it, what you have to understand is that most jobs never see the public application process but they go either through contacts they have at the company or people who have sent applications before because nobody wants to deal with the flood of applications unless they are prepared to hire a separate company to find them an employee

I do not use linkedin job ads. It feels fake already if I see the amount of applicants that have applied (20-100+), seems like number is artificially inflated in order to psychologically cause higher engagement for specific job ad for others to apply as well.
