Unless you have engraving and metalworking skills and can yourself make jewelery out of the gold you hold it's not going to be usable in your lifetime. You're better off buying back hoes and front end loaders for the steel content than any "precious metal." At least with heavy equipment, worst case you can sell it as steel by the ton and best case you can sell the full piece of hardware because people always need to dig and move earth around.
