>>534548470Hello, Hunt fag here. I've thought about this problem a lot. The issue isn't just that wild game populations will be decimated. A bigger more primary problem is displacement. Right now animals have seasons. They have "safe" areas and their seasonal migration hits generationally handed down areas where they don't get shot at as much during specific times of the year. SHTF and that goes out the window. There will be constant year round, habitat wide, hunting pressure. Even the best of hunters are going to have to learn completely new animal behavior patterns to be successful. Not everyone will be successful. There simply isn't enough game to go around. You'll see over harvest as well any time any opportunity presents itself. Wild animal populations will crash hard. Some might go locally extinct. You might be able to gain some success if you're willing to eat predator species, but on a collapsing food web, they're the first to go. If you're SHTF plan is to disappear into the woods with a rifle, you're going to starve. Or get eaten yourself if people get desperate enough. The only way to make it through is either secret food stockpiles, or being the best raider on the block. I wouldn't count on being the best though, there's a lot of military vets that might be dumb, but understand gunplay a lot better than redneck joe (you). So stockpile seeds, dry goods, and if you really want a good fighting chance, go plant apple trees, blueberries, pears, ect in your favorite wooded areas.

Another thing people don’t really realize is that cityfags will die out relatively quickly in a situation where all utilities are completely cut off and don’t turn back on.
