I went to a 30/50 nigger/white trash public school that also had an insane social dynamic (more than half of the students had known each other since elementary school; everyone else was an outsider). The teachers absolutely did not give a fuck about their jobs because most of the parents (including mine) had zero involvement or interests in their kids education. It made for a completely shit environment, where you socialize with the people who created it (because you’re a kid and you’re absolutely going to be a social product of your environment). You get sucked into a laissez-faire attitude; parents put in zero effort, peers put in zero effort, teachers put in zero effort… yet above average results are expected because I’m smart? I graduated with a 2.8 yet I scored a fucking 29 on the ACT. My wife taught at a somewhat exclusive private school for 12 years. You want to know the difference between private and public education, and why the former always surpasses the latter? Parental involvement. That’s literally all it is. It’s not funding. The tuition at private schools are to just a filter. If you weren’t lazy and/or retarded, you could send your kids to a private school. Must parents are too lazy, and would ruin the environment that these schools have fostered.
