Western culture is finished. This is not a doom post about the West has fallen. It is the truth. We are out of ideas. Everything that could be done, philosophically, politically, artistically, has been done. All great cultures hit this wall. Nothing genuinely novel in the culture can arise. Everything is just a repeat of old forms, of tinkering with the mechanical civilisation the culture has built. If you don’t believe me, look at the top films this decade. Look at the music. Look at the fashion. It’s all just reinvention or revival of shit that worked in the past. Cultures that reach this point either remain in permanent stasis, such as India and China, who spent millennia hardly changing in culture or philosophy until Western dominance forced them to adopt Western technics and politics to keep up. Or, they slowly begin to materially decile until the civilisation collapses and the culture vanishes. Classical Rome as an example.Even the people who deeply love this culture and want to save it from its very stark decline, do not want to do anything novel. They want to retvrn to a 1950s style traditionalism, where things are stable and like they were for our ancestors. There is nothing wrong with this, indeed it is more noble than whatever shitshow we live in today. It just shows my point. Culturally, we are finished.
