In my region there was a disastrous drought, about 1,5 month without rain which is impressive, given this time of year there should be a gray sky and a near non- stop rain.
This and the sun is going haywire. More watts per square meter than usual. Believe me, the soil SHOULD NOT be that warm at 20 cm below the surface. It makes the water evaporate really fast.
>>
>>534649947
Do you have a license for those birds? Got a license for that yard? What about a permit for that coup? Did you update your registration for that fence? Sorry buddy, but we're gonna have to kill all your birds today, one just tested positive for covid69 Bird edition. Also your soil is contaminated with silver iodide too high for someone to live here. Yep sorry man, we're expropriating this place

The climate changes over time. The medieval warm period, the little ice age, the desert in Africa growing since thousands of years, all of it speaks for itself. But only a moron can say it's a matter of cars or coal power plants when the sun itself suddenly gives a fucking SUNBURN to apples on the trees in August.

Burgers routinely ask me to deny what my own eyes are telling me. Our winters used to be harsh (as they should be). My hometown, a small town, used to have the kind of winters that allowed you to cross lakes on fott because they'd be frozen solid. It hasn't seen a winter like that in almost 20 years now. My sister and her kids went swimming in February without needing saw and picks for the ice. We ALWAYS had to bring saw and picks in February. And burgers keep telling me it's a hoax. But I can fucking SEE the change happening with my own eyes.
>>
>>534651133
Yes, because the sun radiation reaching the surface is higher than ever before.
2 years ago when I was on vacations in Tatra mountains, I had to dress like an arab, despite the heat. The september sun burnt so badly I had to wear a flannel shirt, long trousers and a hat with additional scarf to cover the neck. I have not encountered this shit before.

>>534650580
It's a delayed impact as with most supply chain disruptions/rapid price hikes
Most of the world wont feel the impact of the lack of fertilizers flowing from the Persian Gulf until harvest season this September.
The stores will not reflect the price until they are forced to buy at those prices and thus push the cost of the potatoes downward onto the consumer.
>>
>>534649543
>Are you going to starve to death

Yes, but before that at least I'll have a good beach body.
>>
>>534650789
Are you fucking stupid? I've been growing potatoes for years and that is how it is exactly how it works. One potato can create millions more
>>
>>534651519
Why did the price of potatoes drop so much since the 2025 peak?
>>
>>534651519
Looks like a nothingburger given past prices
>>
Just wait until the early fruits, like strawberries, reach the grocery stores and local bazaars. The prices are going to be something out of a postapo movie.

>>534651564
THOSE ARE ACKTUALLY BELGIAN NOT FR*NCH THEY ARE CALLED POME FREET
>>
>>534651731
People had a shortage delusion, while there was an oversupply.
>>
>>534651690
That... Is true, but the price hike in the picture does not reflect global markets. It's almost certainly some kind of local price. It's a claim that's going viral right now, but I highly doubt a 30% reduction in access to fertilizer would result in a +700% global price hike in potatoes. It is not proportional.
>>
>>534651441
yeah same story here, i remember how there would be so much snow that you HAD TO shovel that shit if you wanted to move your car. not to mention that there were kids everywhere playing with sleds and shit, i kinda feel bad for new generations that can barely experience that. these days you are lucky if theres any snow and even more lucky if it doesnt all turn in almost a swamp in a few days.

You'll see it in Rice futures starting in South and South East Asia beginning June 1st. You'll see it in Wheat in Northern Africa and the Horn of Africa, you will see it in Sugarcane, and Maize all across Asia.

Come September millions of farmers will instantly go bankrupt as the cost of diesel is greater than the value of their crop.

You'll see crop failures on an unprecedented scale. You will see parts of Asia that still depend entirely on rains be obliterated in this years "super" El Nino.

You'll see parts of India become ghost towns and dead zones as the trucks that bring in the fresh water stop making the trips due to the rapid rise in Diesel and Gasoline cost.
>>
>>534649543
What take a while i assume.
>>
>>534652266
If you think you like low temperatures and snow, you are likely an urban rat who has never experienced a real nasty winter. Like that one in 2012.
>>
>>534651400
my nigga do you not know how economies of scale work
>buy 100 kg potatoes for $2
>sell 2.5kg for $5
>make $200
>price of potatoes shoots up to $18.50/100kg
>have to distribute difference of $16.50 across 40 bags to maintain profit
>price per bag goes up to $6/2.5kg bag
>make $250
>>

Yes, but you seem to labour under the assumption that lower yield equals catastrophe, and that governments will pretend it's raining and do nothing. We know from history that this isn't how it shakes out. Governments will start printing money to get what they need (and richer countries will fare better than poorer). They'll subsidize fuel wherever possible, and will prioritize food supply before anything else (because hungry people start revolutions). Hormuz isn't the lone supplier which is why prices will double or even triple, but that does not mean everywhere will collapse. Some places will for sure. Horn of Africa is fucked. They might as well start buying rope to hand themselves. Some places in India us fucked too as they are incredibly dependent on imports. But the "millions dead by September" is ridiculous. We're looking at low yield, not no yield. In addition, there are alternatives to synthetic fertilizer. It IS less efficient and it will cost more. The yields will be less, but they won't be nothing. There will be less travelling, and if you cannot move cargo via air, you will have to do it by ship, which creates delays and adds costs. But again, it doesn't result in the apocalypse.

The Irish Potato Famine happened in the period when both England and France researched possible biological weapons against foreign agriculture, just saying.
>>
>>534654015
Asian currencies are already in crisis with the Indian Rupee being the worst of the bunch; they can't afford to depreciate the value of their currency as that would make imports even more difficult as it would would take more Rupees to convert to dollars thus creating the conditions for hyperinflation.

You need to let chicken manure compost for a while before using it, the high nitrogen content will burn your plants if you try to use it too soon. Lost a few rows of plants that way in my first year raising chickens.

To make matters worse; the more India suppresses its exports of Sugarcane, Rice, Wheat, Maize, etc. the more it directly shrinks its ag economy.

48% of all Indian workers are employed in the ag sector, the collapse of the ag sector economy would create the worst unemployment crisis India has ever faced in its history.

There are already mass riots alal over indiot: See webm related.

wagies nonstop blasting petrol into the air 24/7. we need lockdowns to stop the car menace from killing us all.
I don't believe in climate change, I think it's a hoax to distract us from the pollution problem which is compounding into crop failure. we can't stop polluting because we are raised to be mentally ill and consume.

most burgers don’t deny it, we just don’t agree with the idea that we should give up our rights to politicians because of it. especially because if their story is true (it’s manmade), their policies caused it to begin with.
If they were concerned with climate change we would’ve just nuked india and china already, and they wouldn’t be freaking out about population decline.
