>>534663506There was a weird short window in the 90's when everyone was cool with everyone for like 2 years and I met my best friend who is black during that time. I still really feel bad about being racist because he still is my best friend and even if we haven't spoken all year he always wishes me a happy birthday or happy whatever holiday it is. Like I really hate every other black family in the world but his and I keep telling myself "he's one of the good ones" but then I feel like I'm being a shitty friend and belittling him putting it like that. His direct family (mom, brother, sister a couple cousins) I literally love like family. But I have met some of his more distant relatives and they remind me why I'm racist and I feel even more shitty. His grandma used to live with him when we were like 7-10 years old and hated white people and would chase me out of their house with her cane or slippers, but then his older brother would come out of nowhere and get us outside then bar the glass sliding door behind us so she couldn't hit me.tl;dr being racist is hard sometimes...
