I am here because I want the input. Are people dumber today or have people always been this dumb?When I was a child, I remember my childhood, I remember being taught basic things such as reading comprehension. I was given assignment to properly interpret reading passages, understand author's intentions and the tone of something. This is stuff I was taught in elementary school, so I don't think I am special or gifted because I can read and easily understand something.On the internet though? It seems I come off as if I am this intellectual hotshot because I reply frustrated with the lackluster cognitive ability of others. Most have not been able to figure me out yet (not saying people have to, but alot of people try and create their own idea of me for themselves to feel smart I guess) but it stems from me as a child having this expectation of adults to be the mature, intelligent and responsible ones. When I was a kid I never thought I was better than the average adult. You know? A police officer's job must require someone responsible, right?Then I became an adult and I realize...most people are pretty stupid, huh? It took me a while to accept this is the species, so I'm not trying to change anything or demand action.What sparked me to post this was the response I saw on a post about a game. Gaming nowadays is just awful, well, particularly multiplayer gaming. Many multiplayer games are rigged and the hero shooters to MOBAs definitely use EOMMs to keep players playing their game. Now, players delude themselves into thinking their rank and win percentage matters. It seems they forgot the main purpose of games is for entertainment/enjoyment. These people say "Skill issue" to every complaint and think winning games would make you suddenly have fun instead of addressing the issues with the game. What is so crazy is the confidence alongside the shallow thinking. For one, why do people react to posts as if they're forced to? "Leave me alone" like bro? Scroll?
