Pretty much. The problem with nationalism in general is that its just a coping mechanism trying to imagine things that simply do no exist. Nationalism implies strong racial or ethnic solidarity, which in practice isn't a thing. Elites, despite often sharing the ethnicity of the subjects almost never perceive those they rule over as their kin. Their immigration policies do not constitute a racial betrayal of the subjects because there was no allegiance to begin with. A century ago exploiting whites was more profitable for the elites, so that is what they did. Now its more profitable to attract foreigners, so they resort to this instead. Nationalists like to pretend that this is not the case and elites should be on their side due to racial and ethnic ties, but to them an average Brit is just as distant as an average Arab. They are both a resource to be exploited. In this regard immigration policies are merely continuation of the colonial rule spread beyond the borders.
