The way romantic love is built up in pop culture is awful. This idea of love as this massive earth-shattering phenomenon is utterly destructive to normal romantic function. "True love", if there is such a thing, is quiet and comfortable, a stable and unremarkable foundation upon which two people can build a life. Fireworks burn bright but fizzle out quick. Proper love is calm embers that burn in the fireplace into the late hours of the morning.
>>534781765You have never been truly in love then. But I do somewhat agree, it definitely sets the majority of people up for disappointment.
