Schopenhauer's existence was an anomaly as he successfully outed the very system that produced him. Everything post-Schopenhauer has been a desperate, convoluted cope produced by agents of the system to pretend he was somehow wrong e.g. Nietzschean "philosophy" and its derivatives, Christian revivalism, transhumanism etc. Schopenhauer singlehandedly exposed the charade called existence and people have attempted to soothe themselves with false elixirs ever since. Schopenhauer was the final philosopher. Everything after him is cope, an attempt by the system to keep you around.

I personally thank old Schopen for his discovery of the Will but i appreciate Nietzsche more because he taught me it doesn't have to be destructive and actually be use for good and self overcoming

Nietzsche teaches us to love our captivity

Wish I had this guy's comfy setup
He got an inheritance and lived the rest of his life on revenue from that inheritance invested in bonds
He had a lot of time on his hands, it seems. He didn't have to wagecuck

Why do Germanics make the worst philosophers?
>>
>>534790698
they're too depressed and autistic from mercury poisoning. schopenhauer might as well been the most depressed person who ever lived
>>
>>534790817
"""depression""" is just a by-product of being too aware.

All self referential thinking is an archaic biological prediction engine that was originally meant to increase survival in a hostile environment by doing extrapolation of signals that fell into a pathological sub routine without survival pressure.
Shopenhauer was no different

But self aware.
He recognised the limits of aesthetic contemplation, for instance, and that asceticism wasn't achievable for most.
His biggest mistake objecting suicide within his metaphysical framework, it should have been left on the table.

What? Nietzsche anti-christian arguments were pretty convincing.

Schopenhauer was a genius. Definitely much more important than any other philosopher in my opinion

The fact that Hegel is -considered- more influential among philosophasters than Schopenhauer is just proof that Schopenahuer was right about pretty much everything. Because right people rarely are taken seriously.

>Schopenhauer didn't believe in atoms and proved that they don't exist.
>Schopenhauer was the first to formulate the primacy of consciousness over matter/atoms (and denied materialism generally) - something that quantum physicists are only beginning to understand
>He also foresaw the theory of evolution (before Darwin).
>he argued that even rocks have a will that we cannot comprehend.

He also quite rightly came to the conclusion that there can be no "multiple universes" (ie braindead idiots take) but a single universe which has already happened (which is why some people can see the future according to him).

He's the last philosopher precisely because he STILL makes contributions to science, especially the super advanced quantum shit. No other philosopher was able to influence science as much as him.

Huh. Kinda in a similar boat... but I shitpost on here all day

>He also foresaw the theory of evolution (before Darwin).
The same can be said of Empedocles some 2,000 years earlier
>he argued that even rocks have a will that we cannot comprehend.
A version of this can also be found in both Spinoza and Leibniz
>>
>>534792341
That means his predict engine was even more pathological than that of most worthless thinkers. Also funny shills try to push Schopenhauer. Not transparent at all. You really suck at your jobs. I highly suggest YOU end your lifes today. Because with every day the ponzi breaks further and with each day the average age of state security mercenaries goes more toward 60 the higher the chance a cfentanyl attack is going to snuff you personally out
>>
>>534790817
Cioran says hi.
>>
>>534792612
I am very ashamed to say that i used to describe myself as an Hegelian, Holy shit Schopenhauer was waaay better and he actually made sense because in contrast to Hegel he actually SPOKE normal language instead of a salad of words.
>>
>>534792612
Philosophy is the art of living. Anyone who doesn't reach a state of inner peace and tranquility doesn't even qualify as a poor philosopher, let alone one of the greatest. Someone like Plotinus contributed far more and achieved happiness while doing so.
>>
>>534792612
The influence of a philosopher is not measured by the fact that he supposedly made scientific predictions using speculation, which would be ridiculous because philosophy deals with ideas, not physical phenomena.
>>
>>534793578
Philosophy is love of wisdom
