>full sequence
Swiss released full sequence of virus: https://virological.org/t/complete-sequence-of-orthohantavirus-andesense-virus-swiss-resident-2026/1023
It's ANDV/ARG and ANDV/CHI derived from genetically common rat coof ancestry in Chile/Argentina and not any kind of new hypervirus or engineered rat coof.
>patient zero and his wife
His travel history:
>Multiple crossings into Chile, re-entered Argentina via hantavirus-endemic area of Neuquén on 31 Jan 2026, later visited Misiones (also endemic), departed to Uruguay by land on 13 Mar 2026, and returned to Argentina on 27 Mar 2026 before boarding in Ushuaia on 1 Apr 2026.
Everyone else took ~24 days to show symptoms so he caught the coof almost exactly on the day he got a driver to Uruguay so either picked it up at some bus station or from the driver/pax he was close to. Since his wife didn't have the rat coof until much later I'm guessing he got it at the bus/driver area probably went to take a piss and some old man rat coooofed all over the bathroom behind him or something.

They are still downplaying the contagiousness and claiming it was only because of the cruise ship confines however an airplane is also a close confine and his sick wife rode on one for a few hours then sat on another for 45m or so until they kicked her off for extreme rat coofing.
>note to self, never go to Patagonia province or nearby Chile ever to avoid dying from rat plague

Yes.
Hantavirus is a large array of viruses, the virus we're talking about here is the Andes variant, which causes about 300-500 infections each year in Argentina and Chile, and a few dozen deaths or so, most due to comorbidities and complications.
Andes virus is a lot like Ebola, it is large, very lethargic and the most basic of hygiene stops it in its tracks.
>>
Remember a couple days ago when it was confirmed this was just the Andes strain for a moment the risks seemed minor, but we speculated the ways it could still turn into a problem? Like what if the Argentinian data on that strain was inaccurate due to poor sample size or deliberate downplaying or what if it does have some assymptomatic spread or what if not all those negative tests are actually negative due to viral load?

It's looking like the ideas we said was the worst case possibility (The Argentinians were initially underselling how contagious it was, it has asymptomatic spread, and the tests aren't consistent at picking it up) may have come true. Newest WHO reports say it's contagious two days before symptoms show and when they do show is HIGHLY contagious....and they fear it may be airborne in that period.

The South Africans may have determined this is largely the Andes Strain, but it seems our info on that strain we had previously was being downplayed by Argentina, who left WHO under Milei. So that was just a false sense of security. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if this whole thing was the actual reason Milei left WHO and sucking up to Trump was just an excuse, it was getting harder to claim "it's just rodents guys we swear" and the outbreaks were getting worse.

This honestly gives way closer historic vibes than something like COVID which is a uniquely modern spread pattern really only comparable to Spanish Flu(brand new thing crops up and immedaitely gets into international) Most historic epidemics and pandemics had flaring and smoldering as diseases had outbreaks in isolated areas, until something took them to the cities and they exploded. That's seemingly what's happening here and even without the cruise Argentina may have eventually run out of luck.

Pretty much guaranteed we at least go from outbreak to epidemic (so something in the SARS tier) unless containment is perfect . Still not COVID tier contagious tho so Pandemic is unlikely for now...

Further going with my ~24 days to infection I predict the following going off this timeline:
https://beaconbio.org/en/event/?eventid=5fd6edf4-ca36-4761-8dc8-cb8632a43977&
>May 11 - 15 will be new cases pozzed by the wife on the ship.
>May 17 - 21 will be new cases pozzed by the wife on the planes(s)/airport
>May 19 - 22 will be new cases pozzed by the Swiss guy on planes(s)/airport
>May 17 - 21 will be new cases pozzed by the dead german woman on the ship
>May 25 - ? will be new cases pozzed by the doctor and the other crew member on the ship

The 30 people who left the ship on Apr 22-24 some will start getting pozzed next week in fact all those people right now should be transmissible and pozzing everyone near them as I write this.

Covid was a ploy to get people to inject gene therapy. Your guess is as good as mine as to why, but my money of on population control.
But if famine starts, and ww3, the congenital sterilization of the clot shots is worthless, because the masses will burn the whole world down in 9 meals to anarchy.
So enter plan b: everyone locked down, where they die peaceful.
It's what I would do if I believed we were looking at the existential threat to all life on the planet that over population becomes and over consumption is.

And he was filmed at a wedding on May 3rd which was a day after they announced it was Hanta.
Then he "Returned Home" and took a test? Which seems weird - but either way it's been 3 weeks since he left the ship, I'd expect he'd have symptoms by now if he caught it? Something seems weird about the story.

You guys are hopeless, that is not how R0 works at all. It is not a measure of peak infectivity for handpicked individuals.

If I invite you all over to my house and have you bathe in a kiddie pool filled with Hantavirus infected piss while I piss while pissing on you with you drinking my infected piss by the gallons while I'm at "R0 7" and you all get infected, that does not magically make Andes/ARG have an R0 of now 30 or so.
>>
>>534797468
On one hand if it was way back on may 3rd and he still isn’t symptomatic to his day then it’s probably a nothing burger, as the current assumption is you become contagious around 2 days before symptom onset.

On the other he’s still got plenty of time for popping positive as the incubation could take what up to 8 weeks?

Either way hope he’s been making his fucking tiktoks in isolation since then

They did testing to show how infective it was at each phase, they did this to understand the andes strain you retard. So of course they want to know each phase of the virus. Phase 1 pre-symptomatic Phase 2 early symptomatic Phase 3 severe symptoms.

You need to know each phase with a virus like this, because it spreads differently each phase.

I don't know what's funnier, the fact that you're so stereotipically gringo that you think there's such a thing as remote uncomunicated villages anywhere in the planet anymore that could just be burned through by a virus and it would't spread beyond, or that you think Kirschnerist Argentina could actually be capable of enforcing the lockdowns and secrecy required for such an event.
It is infinitely more believable that this is just another ebola or monkeypox, a virus that just doesn't spread well because it's either lethargic as fuck like ebola or it has a shameful vector that the infectees are keeping secret like monkeypox.
By general rule illnesses are either very deadly or very transmissible, never both.

Patient zero infected 7 people.
From 20th Apr until 28th Apr there was 6 people already infected and didn't know it who were spreading it on the ship. I'm guessing they each pozzed another 5 at least because they were all in that closed room everyday for 3 meals.
Mar 13 Patient Zero is pozzed
Apr 4-11 he was spreading rat coof.
Apr 4 the wife is pozzed.
Apr 22-25 she was spreading rat coof.
Apr 6 the doctor is pozzed.
Apr 28-30 he is spreading rat coof.

It's exactly what is in the pic.
Assuming ANDSV infection 2 days prior to symptoms patient zero infected 7 people from Apr 3 - 6. He stopped updating his eBird account Apr 4 so was likely experiencing early symptoms Apr 5 then called the doctor on Apr 6. I doubt he left his room after Apr 6 except to shit himself in the bathroom.

So add ~20-24 days from Apr 3-6 and that's when the other 7 people became infectious themselves. The doctor said he first had symptoms Apr 30. The wife had symptoms Apr 24 when she left to get on a plane so was infectious sometime around Apr 22.

>The couple arrived in Argentina on 27 Nov 2025, made multiple crossings into Chile, re-entered Argentina via hantavirus-endemic area of Neuquén on 31 Jan 2026, later visited Misiones (also endemic), departed to Uruguay by land on 13 Mar 2026, and returned to Argentina on 27 Mar 2026 before boarding in Ushuaia on 1 Apr 2026.

Since it took everyone else on the boat around 20-24 days to show symptoms I'm guessing Mar 13 when he went by land to Uruguay is when he got the virus.

Depends how long the cruise is? It would likely be 1-3 more weks to see where new cases potentially pop up if this has as long of an incubation time as some people are saying (20ish days before first symptoms)
Even then given how slow the covid response was, it could be all over and too late before they lock down.
