Appalachia needs our help!
>>
West Virginia is sad. Nobody cares about Appalachia in general. They tend to voooooot red but Republicucks never done anything for them. And when Dems are in power they focus on brownoids and not the plight of impoverished whites.

My family comes from appalachia way and i gotta say best thing i every did was leave

This isn't even West Virginia. Appalachia extends geologically from Alabama and Georgia and on up to New York and I would argue much of New York that isn't the Adirondacks or Catskills or NYC/suburbs is also appalachia at least culturally if not strictly geologically.

>And when Dems are in power they focus on brownoids and not the plight of impoverished whites.
just seems like nobody really cares enough to try something new regardless of party

Well yeah, I said "Appalachia in general". But West Virginia is just the first thing that comes to mind.

The culture here is not to tear down old buildings. Someone's great grandfather built that house

This might make sense if it was a historic structure or was architecturally significant (and I have seen some nicer older homes in PA and NY especially from ~ 1850-1920 that are decaying now but could be saved), but I also see lots of 1 story rusted out things and I wonder is the state neglecting this or just the owners. I mean I know it costs money to demolish stuff but I highly doubt the real reason for just letting it rot is admiration for granpappy's fine fabrication skills.

It costs next to nothing to demolish a small home like that. You have no connection to your family or history so its a foreign concept to you

Appalachia vooted Dem for decades, they only started vooting Republican recently because the Dems stabbed them in the back with offshoring. Joe Manchin was a good representation of what Appalachia was for years, but the Dems have gone so insane recently that Appalachia has made a solid break with them.

Also, what Appalachia needs is not handouts, but good jobs and good opportunities for responsible citizens to make their own way in this world.

Correct.
GOP doesn't care because Appaniggas are poor.
Dems don't care because Appaniggas are white.

Case closed. Complimentary opioids and meth at the door as the American political class waits for them to die out.

help iss on de wey
>>
>>534797529
someone said it costs 10k for all the work
and to haul all the junk off
I dunno there's just SO much junk in appalachia and abandoned homes and homes that LOOK abandoned but aren't - or are they??

I have a feeling its more that the people who lived there got old and died and their family moved away or people get into alcohol and drugs and just let shit fall apart and abandon it and nobody else wants to be the one to clean up the mess esp. if its not their land

appalachia is NOTHING if not territorial

politicians of any stripe are unlikely to help without major changes

I love my area of Appalachia. I bought 10 acres with a 2,000 sq foot house at a very reasonable price. My property is in an area that is mostly national forest and for that reason is very lightly populated. A 200 acre state wildlife sanctuary borders my western property line. Appalachia has a moderate climate, lush vegetation, abundant sunshine and rainfall. We have strong storms that bring heavy rain that quickly pass leading to sunny days. These strong passing storms provide us ample rain while allowing a high percentage of sun during the day. Portions of Appalachia are designated as temperate rain forest.
Appalachia has a tremendous amount of freshwater streams and rivers enabling an abundance of fish and wildlife, including large game such as white tail deer, feral pigs and black bears.
Appalachia also has a rugged, independent, even rebellious population. Appalachia's rugged terrain, moderate climate, abundant fresh water and game make it a perfect area for the guerrilla war fighter.
There are many reasons that US Army Green Berets and Rangers retire to Appalachia. It is a place that calls people steeped in guerrilla warfare home.
Picrel is my horse grazing in a sunlit pasture next to an Appalachian mountain lake 900 feet from his barn.
