It had been calculated that the government in Teheran would fall as soon as US and Israel removed Iran's leadership and bombed its key military assets, but instead of destabilizing the country it actually brough Iranians closer together. US could still do a ground operation to secure the Strait of Hormuz and adjacent territories and would probably be successful, but that would be a political disaster and would likely cost America trillions in the long run. So, it’s not that the US cannot win this war, but rather winning it would be too costly and not worth the resources spent. Out of all countries today only China can rival the US. Iran showed great resilience, but it’s not nearly enough to beat the US if they actually commit to the war.
