What is the reason for this?

Doctors get a pass.
>>
>>534812590
Sounds like the doctor took the wrong path then cause dentists and rehabilitation center doctors definitely live like that here.

US has a bigger area wise than East + Western Europe combined

despite having much fewer people (35,00,00,000 vs 49,00,00,000)

you have to be pretty stupid in the US to not own land with small house/home

Europe doesn't allow extreme wealth inequality like the US does. The US is one of the most unequal countries in the developed world with a GINI coefficient of 41.8. Europe keeps their GINI values in the low 30s, which means heavy taxation to prevent concentration of wealth with the wealthy and redistribution to the poor to keep them from getting too far behind

Lol. Doctors in the usa cannot afford tony sopranos house. Are you retarded?
>>
>>534812852
Damn commies
>>
>>534812590
Because the US health system is a scam. Doctors and big pharma are making big bucks on the insurance system, in which patients are way overly over-investigated and over-treated. The insurance system promotes this and there is no sense of prudent resource management. If you go to the doctor in the US with an aching knee, you will get an MRI and a visit to specialist clinic by routine rather than actual rehab which helps 99% of non-traumatic knee injuries.

>>534812590
In the US a garbage consultant can afford that house.

Things are changing in the US as the country moves away from a meritocracy and things are becoming less and less affordable
>>
>>534812852
>>534812879
Europe keeps most people poor, including those who should be high earners. They do this in favor of entrenched noble classes. This is why doctors are considered middle class in most of Europe, as Europe has an upper class that isn’t defined by wealth.

cheap land, woodframe construction that will rot in 20 years because it's being put up by Juan and budgeted by Shekkelstein
>>
That's an old doctor, betcha. New docs emerge $500,000 in student loan debt and are facing Obamacare limitations on independence and competition of foreign import docs, who get licensed without US med school debt.
It's no longer the golden path it used to be. And their student loans are nondischargeable like anyone else's.
>>
So no one is gonna challenge OP on this? Can you post the average doctors salary in the US and the listing of a house like that one?
>>
>>534812590
why should a doctor live like that? How is that going to lead to affordable healthcare? If you have more healthcare workers the wages come down and healthcare is cheap. Everyone profits except the fucking doctor. Add 10 years of mandatory service if you do your med degree in the country and you have fixed society.
>>
>>534812590
Tony Soprano was a waste management consultant.

But they haven't rotted in 20 years, or 50. They were building em with chipboard at least since the 80's, and those even those McMansions are still standing and being lived in.
Sorry Germany, you just didn't have the forests to build our way. Granted your way is better, but way more expensive for far fewer square feet.

It's a deliberate decision by European governments to prevent people rom accumulating too much wealth at the expense of the poor, to increase social cohesion. Considering the poor in the US got so angry, they elected Trump, it doesn't seem like such a bad idea.
>>
>>534813213
>Can you post the average doctors salary in the US
Salary means fuck all . .. .that's why Mutts boast about it, you also have to look at outgoings and overheads which are fat more than Europe.

A cherry picked picture means fuck all . . .. stop being so gullible.
>>
>>534813300
The opposite. Modern doctors are keeping your 90 year old senile granny alive with intensive care because it makes them more money. And they're doing it with YOUR money.
>>
>>534813223
"you have more healthcare workers the wages come down and healthcare is cheap." Wages coming down also means more people leaving the profession, which is why you have to wait 2 years for an MRI scan.
>>
>>534813351
My grandmother is dead because of them.
>>
>>534813397
Your grandmother is dead because it's perfectly natural to die when you're old. Something mutts seem to have forgotten.
>>
>>534812926
surgeons and doctors can make well over 1 million USD per anum
>>
>>534812590
the reason is the US chose to build their cities in a way that forces you to depend on a personal vehicle for everything and anything. that's why most people never leave their house, because it fucking sucks.

>>534812590
They have insane healthcare costs, and the doctors are paid in kind. Doctors can be millionaires. Easily.
An ambilance bill as an example. 9000 for the ambulance, and you pay 5K out of pocket.

They have the same healthcare system we do: The insurance pays, and they can charge whatever they want.
It's a huge problem over here that they keep upping the prices every year, so the incurance goes way up every year.

>>534813213
Neuro and cardiovascular surgeons can make 500k to a million a year. Certain subspecialties like Cardiologists and Anesthesia can make 300-400k per year. Even basic primary care can make 200k a year.

>>534813392
No, it’s because of excessive regulation and artificial barriers to entry. Fast food wagies are paid very little and yet they’re everywhere, you never have to wait more than 5 minutes for your burger
>>
>>534812992
>"The insurance system promotes this"
Probably the most retarded comment here. Insurance makes money by denying procedures, not paying for them. Your insurance company will find any excuse to worm their way out of paying for a procedure. Having to haggle with Insurance companies is what increases cost.
>>
>>534813339
Europe is irrelevant now and will be 3rd world living standards by mid century.
>>
>>534814014
If they didn’t deny, wouldn’t greedy professionals just slap on as many unnecessary procedures as possible?
>it’s for the benefit of the patient after all!!!
>>
>>534814014
The insurance system does not mean the insurance companies. They're also fucked by this system, even if they're picked out as the bad guys. Really it's the hospitals who are the villains here, insane rates for the most basic shit and will do everything they can to push more scans on to you so they can charge the insurance companies more.
>>
>>534814147

If your relative is working in psychology, that's another matter.
>>
>>534812808
Land is cheap in the middle of nowhere but we’re talking no access or utilities. Usually areas with cheap land tend to be economically depressed- cheap property but few good paying jobs nearby.

People usually fuck themselves buying more than they need rather than living below their means and save or invest.

Considering only around 45% of the French households pay income tax, low and medium income would be around minimal social benefits (approximately 500 €), to 2 000 € after taxes.
Rich here is considered top 10 % of earners, so about 4 500 € after taxes.
Elite, well we used to have the richest person on earth a few years ago (Bernard Arnault).
For reference, since I replied to a post mentioning doctors, those I know make between 5 to 8 k € net per month. Basically they choose the income they want because they want to diminish income tax.

The Sopranos was a well-researched show that didn't stray far from reality
Just because you can't afford it, doesn't mean others can't
In 1999, when the show 1st started, the house was worth ~$1.2M, that's what Tony told Melfi. At that price, it is only a multiple of 6 of the $200k/yr earned by a dr
It is also well-known that the house was built by Hugh DeAngelis [Tony's father-in-law] who had a reputation for cutting corners, using substandard materials & greasing the palms of the building inspectors

1. Barriers to entry.
2. MUCH more powerful economy.
In the US the owner of a small plumbing business can afford a house like that. That is how rich we are. Sorry Europoors, at least you have free healthcare, right? Enjoy your closet-sized apartment with no AC.

Euros really don't realize how poor they are. European white collar workers are living poorer than an American Walmart shelf-stocker.
>>
>>534812590
Don't forget that most houses in the USA are made out of cardboard.

>>534818232
I, for one, have two Skidos and most Europoors don't even have one. I do landscaping at a commuter rail stop.
>>
>>534812926
Depends on where you are. This house in a gated community somewhere in the burbs of New Orleans would go for $700K. You can't even buy a much smaller, older house by a loud ass highway in a second tier town in Los Angeles County for that much. That said, I'd say most small business owners in the US can scrape together money for digs like that.
>>
>>534818232
