Speaking as an autist, the autist synapse just seems inefficient to me. Excess structures that lead nowhere. In reality autists are easily and quickly exhausted by environmental stimuli and are rarely able to acquire skills reauired to interact with that environment because they isolate themselves, which is the main reason they appear retarded and stunted. Our brain chemistry is simply too intense and it takes a lot of extra effort to turn us into productive members of society.
