This is not a text book scenario where we're are two people on a deserted island and we're traded bananas and coconuts. in the real world Sweden is the largest manufacturers of military weapons when adjusted for its population size. We sell/give those weapons to countries like Ukraine and Turkey to protect our own national security interest from countries like Russia by helping turning the currently active war into an endless meat grinder where Russian men are dying by the thousands. Under no circumstances would we give this ability up in favor of off-shoring our manufacturing sector to another country because a country like China has a comperative advantage with manufacturing that allows us to buy cheaper goods from them.
