Not all gated communities are the same, too; just because your community has a gate and is beautiful doesn't mean the other community across from you (also gated) is beautiful. It's just all an illusion to make you feel safer, to make you feel like your community is the same as the other gated community when in fact it could be a shit hole behind the fence. So if they ever wanted to enact martial law for, oh I dunno a pandemic, all they'd have to do is put a big makeshift wall at the gate and they'd easily lock in thousands of people in the given county behind 1 little fence. Homes used to be free from gates but new gates go up every year for neighborhoods that didn't have them.
