Your CPU cooler would perpetually remain cool, and you'd also send the heat down the drain instead of into your room.

Depending on the local geology it can take hundreds of years for the water cycle to replenish it what has been drained. Water that evaporates in the cooling process is not captured by the municipality and does not entirely flow back into the aquifer so you get a net drain on your water supply. It's not destroyed, it just runs off into rivers and gets flushed into the ocean. This can all be mitigated with proper engineering, but they're not bothering to do it.
