>U-UH YEAH UHHH WE TOTALLY COULD HAVE WON IF WE JUST NUKED YOU AND LAUNCHED A MASSIVE GROUND INVASION FOR A POINTLESS AND UNPOPULAR SANDSHIT WAR BUT WE DIDN'T SO WE DIDN'T ACTUALLY LOSE!!!!!!"

Literally every single fucking war since Korea they've dropped this line

Why?
Are they that ego bruised that losing to some arabs makes them mentally raped without concocting some cope about how if they just used death stars they could have won?

You mean the way that YOU cope for losing another war.

>he thinks America can't annihilate entire Iranian leadership for 4th time
At this point Iran is committing geo-terrorism, the purpose of the ceasefire is to shatter any remaining plausible daniability of Islamic Republic being crazy fuckups that have to be removed.

from a gunboat diplomacy standpoint it is a stalemate, sorta like where the european powers were at before they walked in and conquered China, they wanted to do it politically but the Chinese were larping as though they were a real power so they had to sail up the river and destroy the Chinese to remind them of their place, the modern equivilent would be a nuke, we don't remember Europe as losing that skirmish btw

It has been a continuous post ww2 but especially post 1991 mentality that America has near infinite capacity but finite willpower.
Lose vietnam? They were not losing it on the war front but at home, the will was lacking but not their capacity.
Same now with the war in Iran. Even in their politcal class there is little awareness how "low" the ceiling of their might is, seriously risking American overextension. If anything goes wrong, be sure that it will be blamed on a lack of willpower. Which is not an entirely wrong claim but neglects the other political spheres besides military might.

It is true though. We could occupy the country, install a government, build a nation favorable to our economic interests. We have the technology, manpower, and logistics. It is a terrible idea because it would cost thousands of american lives and billions of american dollars. In fact we shouldn't have even done as much as we did. Should have never involved ourselves in the conflict.

Why are agitators coming out of the wood work shitting on the idea of withdrawing from conflict as some sort of a loss when the conflict itself was bad for the us. So we should do more? Why? Fuck you.
