Its barely enough for rent nowadays. the Average rent for an apartment is like $1,750 per month. That's almost half his income right there. Right now Americans need an annual household income of over $120,000 to afford a median-priced home too.I'd say middle class is being able to afford a mortgage, a car, and a vacation once a year.
