Used to think it was stupid expensive. Then learned plans are like 21-27 a month and you get your cleanings covered 100%. I don't trust dentists. They have every incentive to encourage more procedures for more shekels, even if they're not actually necessary. Picture this, when I was a kid, I had a cavity. It got filled with that silver mercury amalgam stuff they used to use. Then decades later, apparently what they don't fucking tell you is that these fillings start to degrade over time. Over the past decade I've had 3 different dentists, and all of them have been talking about how my filling is going to degrade and I should get it removed and the tooth completely capped and blah blah blah. So suddenly a tiny little divot in my molar from when I was like 9 years old now apparently requires the entire tooth to eventually be replaced. And my current dentist every fucking visit tries to convince me I need to get it done, despite no visible differences or changes in the tooth/filling and no issues with pain/sensitivity/anything. But every fucking visit he tries to get me to sign up for a crown. And every time I have to explicitly tell him to fuck off. IDK, makes me think that maybe that childhood cavity was complete bullshit to begin with. I always had good dental hygiene, never felt any pain or discomfort. We just go to the dentist and do what they tell us.
