If British people originally came from Germany why isn't their ethnicity German?

There is no single German ethnicity. There are the northern Germans aka the Saxons, the middle Germans aka the Franks and the southern Germans aka the Alemanni. Also, if anything, the Anglo-Saxons are more Norse than they are Germans. The Angles and the Jutes literally came from modern Denmark, and the nigger Danes stole their land after they resettled in England.
