It isn't really a fair comparison. Iran's good stuff is all under a mountain of rock. Iran also have a good missile program. The US is very good at bombing shit from stealth, but they can't harm Iran's ability to wage war. The US would probably take out China in under a week. It has a bit of a strategic weakness; the 3 Gorges Dam if hit by a few missiles drowns out 1/3 of China and takes all their power off line. Their whole manufacturing base would be under 6' of water and food production goes to almost nothing.

The whole thing with wars today is that it does not matter if you are a superpower or not. You will get stuck regardless if you are Russia, US or China. The only way they can win is towards very small countries for logical reasons. But when you start messing around with medium sized countries with a massive aresenal, wars will go on forever.That is of course if you follow international laws and rules that is written for war.
