This is an issue that is actually not tied to race, there are whites, blacks, browns, basically everyone is living like this here.

>A MOTHER-of-three says she has been battling for three years to sort out her “extremely” mouldy council flat.

>Charlotte Gilder, 32, said black mould had spread in different parts of her home in Meeching Court, Newhaven, and is damaging her children’s health.

>She said her eldest daughter, Lara, ten, had to take time off school as she suffers from asthma.

>And her other two children, Genie, three, and Willow, one, have been coughing a lot, she said.

>“I have been living with extreme damp but I had been told it was condensation previously,” she said.

>“In December, a housing surveyor confirmed it wasn’t condensation but it was penetrative damp caused by a badly blocked gutter. The mould is in the lounge, the bathroom and in my daughter’s bedroom – and there is water dripping where she sleeps.

>“I have asked the council if we can move. The gutter is at the top of this four-storey block, and we live on the fourth floor. The water can’t get out so it’s seeping through the walls.”

I sanded it all, then smoothed it over and painted with an anti humidity paint. It's been 8 months now and the mold hasn't come back.
That took time and money though, I own the place. If I was just a rentoid I think I'd ask my landlord to do something about it or at the very least cover all the costs and god knows many landlords are pieces of shit.

I believe I saw a report that said most of this is self inflicted. Most homes in Britain have big air vents on the walls for air exchange. This keeps the humidity from building up inside. But it also makes the homes not very efficient when it comes to heating, because it's the equivalent of having a window open even in winter. So people remove the air exchange vents, desperate to save money. But then their house turns into a mold bomb.

It's not like Britain is any more damp and dreary than it ever was. If there's a sudden spike in mold problems it's because people are doing something wrong. My guess is even councils and landlords are removing the air exchange vents to save money on energy bills.
>>
>>535013350
The mold originates from the substructure. Framing, ceiling joists, insulation, etc. one of them is moldy and it spreads into the home.

I was a property manager at a 160 unit apartment building in a heavily African-American area in Alabama.
Nearly 100% of our tenants were Black (yes, you could hear the smoke detectors chirping constantly when you walked down the hallways, but that's a different story)
One particular tenant, two black girls in their 20s, roommates had lived there for a couple years, before moving out.
We never inspected the unit while they lived there, because they never submitted any maintenance requests.
When they moved out and we went in the unit, we found black mold covering walls ceilings and floors throughout the whole unit. This was like one day after they moved out. It cost us $20,000 to remediate the mold for the next tenants to move in.
These dumb negresses probably took 10 years off their own lifespan living with the deadly mold everywhere. They could easily have submitted a maintenance request or told ownership about it, but they didn't.
We would've much rather paid a couple hundred dollars to remove the mold when it probably started as one tiny spot. Instead, we had to rip every inch of drywall out to be replaced

Its damp in Britain and ireland. The air is humid. The summers are short and cool. That means homes are designed to be well heated to keep dampness out. They wont dry out passively. You also need to ventilate when cooking or washing.

Rentoids dont ventilate because lazy rentoid scum and dont heat because stupidly useless and poor. Heating costs money. How about using a damp cloth to remove mold when it starts? Hope. Thats house work. They dont clean their homes.

Protip: Fill a spray bottle with hydrogen peroxide (3% is fine) and spray moldy spots. It will fizz up and deactivate the mold. Scrub and clean the area with warm, soapy water, dry it, then spray some white vinegar over the spot and let that dry, which helps to keep it from coming back.

Ideally you should do this for every square inch of every wall in your house. Spray with the peroxide, scrub it clean with soapy water, then coat with a bit of white vinegar.

And then buy a dehumidifier which is the only thing that keeps it from coming back for good, though you WILL have to open it and clean it with peroxide sometimes too as mold can build inside of them if not maintained.

at 1? nah, you must heat the house well if you don't want mold
in the past people had stoves, and direct fire absorbs moisture, thus no mold buildup
radiators are obviously different, you need to properly heat the house, but also ventilate from time to time

Mold can grow pretty much on anything because it will originate from somewhere that it has nutrients and it grows in search of more.
>>
>>535015352
>A mix of high humidity and a lack of heating usually does it.
Alright I actually looked this up. Heating actually increases the growth of black mold. The ideal temperature for black mold growth is 16-25c which is exactly what people heat their houses too during the winter. But I guess heating the house decreases moisture in the air.
>>
A solution of sodium hypochlorite (common bleach) in water sprayed on the mould quickly removes it. No need of expensive products. Instant mold shoah, it runs off and leaves the wall clean.

Well either there's cracks on the outside wall and it's letting water leak through when it rains, or the indoor humidity is too high.

They can just get some moldex or other mold removal and scrub it off themselves. It'll keep growing back but at least they can eliminate most of it.

My shower tiles sometimes get dots of black mold and I just clean them off.

All true. But also depends on the position & purpose of the room/appartment. You need far less heat when you're surrounded by appartments in a block for instance. In some cases (at least in the past) when the floor insulation is shit you have to leave the windows open.

Yea, but like the other anon correctly pointed out, it's the lack of air circulation that really helps it. Heating reduces moisture, but that's often not enough if that humidity is trapped in a bathroom with a closed door.
In other words, the heat only helps if you don't inadvertently create a tropical zone after ever shower/bath, but a cold flat still works too by not getting rid of the moisture either.

I think mould exposure creates multiple chemical sensitivity among other prolonged chemical exposure. It's such a bummer, I have it and any fumes just kill me, am homeless tomorrow again

Our country used to use lime plaster in houses, and it allowed moisture to escape, and now houses use gypsum plaster and it doesn't. Add to that we used to be extremely high trust and people would leave windows open and doors unlocked, and now we're not and everyone is a prisoner in their home and worried about having windows open.

Not sure about that particular brand, but usually they are a bleach spray, which works great on the surface, buuuut... it's still mostly water and bleach degrades into salt water. The mold persists under the surface and you are jut giving it water.
Instead, you want to change the ph of the surface the mold grows on so it can't grow back. See >>535016197

Also make sure to take preventative measures like using an extractor fan in your bathroom and a dehumidifier.
>>
>>535013073
If you're too stupid to not buy a dehumidifier you were never going to make it and deserve to suffer. Simple as.

>>535017054
Mold (including black mold) is a nothing burger that licensed contractors lobbied to have declared a health issue so they can jew you, but it can indicate there are underlying leaks and circulation problems that can cause your house to rot which is a much bigger issue.

Check for leaks near the mold and install a dehumidifier if there are no leaks. Your girlfriend's mood and fatigue problems were caused by her being an overweight white woman living in a first world nation.

Never report mold. I denounce the talmud.

>>535013073

So the numbers mean nothing… I do like how each room have their own heating zones. A lot of houses here have forced air heat. This is not so nice. I have water based heater which is nice and a wood stove which is the nicest.

How can these people not find time to scrub the mold off. It's not like some investation that is expensive and difficult to sort.
Get mold spray/bleach and something to scrub with.

You may not be able to immediately fix your heating or ventilation issues, but at least clean it up.
>>
>>535018111
>How can these people not find time to scrub the mold off.
i bet they're initially lazy and ignore it, until it eventually dawns on them that they leverage it for a better home if they let it fester.
This seems like a phenomenon that wouldn't exist without welfare support systems and the availability of insitutions these people can compain to.

My bedroom growing up was a converted garage that had no vent system and one window. Things were fine when it was warmer outside and could leave the window open but winters would have mould popping up and distinct smell would come with it. Anyway, one day I found out about dual blade window fans and got one. One fan would shoot air out of my room and the other fan would bring the fresh air in creating air flow in my room. Nice thing was the room would stay warm in the winters because of this thing so I had it running 24/7. Don't live there anymore but my parents keep it running because they don't want a mouldy room. Highly recommend it.

Brick, but damp can still be an issue. All the plaster fell off the wall in my bedroom because the wall is constantly wet. One nice thing about brick is damp does not destroy the core structure of the building. I imagine a wood/cardboard house would end up in a dire state if it stayed wet for months.

It's just a compressor. You should be able to get bare minimum 5 years out of one if you run it super hard all the time and clean the filter on time.
>produce a ton of heat
Pretty sure my amp reader reads about 4 amps, that's 480 watts o heat. Not nothing but definitely not a "ton of heat".
Besides, warmth helps it work anyway. If your house is experiencing high humidity then an extra 480 watts of heat is the least of your worries, in fact the extra warmth aids in bringing the humidity down.

Mold is easy to fix as long as you don't have water leaks. You use a dehumidifier. It's literally that simple. What's left of it that you can't reach (like behind a wall) will go dormant and be completely harmless.

>>
>>535026825
the good thing about stone houses and mold and mildew is that its only a surface level problem, you can spray it with bleach and wipe it off

hollow stud walls that get moldy are usually from a build up of moisture inside the wall from a leaky pipe or condensation on an uncovered hotwater pipe. to clean it you have to rip the wall open and that gets expensive
>>
All of these mold people look horribly low class.

>i feel like this problem must have been solved in the past
It's a problem which has largely been created by recent trends
A) From the mid-2000s to late-2010s, there were a succession of government regulations and subsidy schemes to try and increase roof and cavity wall insulation. The idea was to improve energy efficiency by reducing the need to run the central heating during the winter. The problem was that the installation was often shoddy, with borderline-scam artist builders trying to quickly cash in on the state subsidies, and older buildings really just not being made for it, and the end result of a lot of it was to reduce air circulation and trap moisture in wall cavities
B) Massive growth in the 'Houses of Multiple Occupation' (HMO) market since the mid-2010s, which primarily involves older urban housing stock, especially terraces, being bought up and shoddily converted into multi-tenant properties. Often ends up with rooms being packed too densely, quite common to end up with bathrooms that don't have exterior windows and rely solely on extractor fans, or similar layouts that are almost designed to result in excess moisture not getting ventilated out. The multi-tenant occupancy also just means you've got too many people in one building, all showering and cooking and doing laundry and whatever else, far more than would have been the case if the property were occupied by a single family as it was built for

Council will quite literally tell you to "Paint over it lol".
Some old biddy who had breathing issues died round my end years back because of the councils bad advice. She got an untreatable lung infection from the black mould.
All the council did was say something along the lines of "Ooooh we're sooo sorry. Lessons to learn!" Ect. 6 months later a toddler died from the same shit in a council property 3 doors down from the old woman.
