Lets be real here. Current year Americans are too stupid, lazy and self-entitled to take care of themselves properly. They would be better off under European rule. Maybe over time, they could earn their right for self rule, but until then, their incompetent and greedy fumbling on the world stage is too embarrassing for Western Civilization to be accepted.

Big cars, big buildings, everything in excess. The problem is with forever wars nuking energy infrastructure, couple that with insane corruption, that economy is no longer sustainable. They will have to face European style austerity measures that none of them is equipped to handle. They'll keep downgrading until they reach a breaking point.
