>Let me explain something to you people: your town is dying. Main Street is boarded up, your kids leave after high school, and your biggest economic development plan is a pancake breakfast twice a year. I’m offering you a lifeline. I come in here with a multi-billion-dollar data center project, and suddenly your little town matters to the global economy. But I don’t do charity I do business. I need the land, I need priority access to the water, and I need guaranteed electricity allocation because downtime costs me millions an hour. In return, you get jobs not many, because these facilities run lean but enough for a press conference and a ribbon cutting. I’ll pave a road, maybe sponsor the local baseball field, and your property values might tick up before the noise and industrial cooling systems kick in. That’s the deal.

>And don’t give me this emotional speech about family farms and ‘community heritage.’ Sentimentality doesn’t scale. The cloud doesn’t care about your fishing pond or the fact your grandfather built the hardware store in 1948. AI is the gold rush of this century, and towns either adapt or disappear. You can fight me and stay broke, or you can sign the deal and become infrastructure for the future. Frankly, if you say no, I’ll just go find another town desperate enough to take the money. There are hundreds of them. That’s capitalism.

I still have no clue what these data centers even do. I'm starting to think most the computer capacity is totally superfluous bullshit.

I have a business idea to pitch to Kev: Entropy
>O'Leary had aspired to become a photographer, but on the advice of his stepfather, who prompted the young Kevin to be more realistic with his future career aspirations, decided to attend university,[21] where he continued to develop his interest in business and investing since his youth.[28] He received an honours bachelor's degree in environmental studies and psychology from the University of Waterloo in 1977[29][30][31] and an MBA in entrepreneurship from Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario in 1980.[30][31]
Does he even know what entropy is?

>what these data centers even do
They hold data, centrally.

Maybe a top 5 all time libertarian moment.

Yes. This option please.

>Listen, I don’t make the rules of global infrastructure I just optimize them. To secure blessing level uptime for these data centers, I had to go through what I can only describe as ‘nontraditional procurement.’ That includes acquiring a rare, forbidden artifact known as the Crystal Synapse Horn, which, according to my very expensive and mildly unhinged consultants, must be presented to the local… let’s call them ‘forest stakeholders’ witches, spirits, whatever branding resonates with you before they’ll agree to stabilize the grid. Do I believe in it? I believe in results. And the results are uninterrupted server uptime and a $40 billion valuation.

>So here’s the deal: I take your land, your water rights, and enough electricity to make the regional grid weep. In return, you get a few jobs, a mural downtown, and the honor of being the birthplace of ‘next-generation intelligence infrastructure.’ You can call it exploitation. I call it efficient mythology-backed capitalism. Either way, I’m moving forward with or without your blessing.
