Factory farming is a bit brutal. I agree that the world should all be a bit more rural, raise and kill their own animals. Eating only vegetables is a choice you can make, but the remainder of the animal kingdom is brutal. They eat each other.
Americans don’t eat that much. I personally eat 2 egg and sausage McMuffins for breakfast with 4 hash browns on the side, then I get 2 double quarter pounders for lunch with a 20ct chicken nugget on the side and an extra large fries, and for dinner I’ll usually have 3-4 Big Macs with extra Big Mac sauce and ranch dressing for dipping the burgers with two mcchicken sandwiches on the side and an extra large fries. For desert I’ll usually have 2 Oreo McFlurrys or 2 chocolate sundaes. I don’t eat as much as the average American but this is basically the normal diet
